07.01.2022 I am now a Certified Mental Health First Aider! I urge everyone to learn about Mental Health Illness, to be educated and understand a little more on this very important subject! Mental illness does not discriminate and a person suffering silently inside is experiencing such trauma which the outside world just cannot understand. ... Without understanding an illness, it is so easy to make wrong judgements, label a person with names, like psycho and even to fear them. From this course I have learnt how to approach Mental Health in a helpful and appropriate way. Knowing what to say and do to help give a person suffering, assistance, giving them help and hope and to keep them safe, (as well as myself) without any judgement or judgements. The danger is in the lack of knowledge and lack of understanding another’s view of their world, therefore being reactive because of own personal beliefs, as well as how media brain wash with their inaccurate views and reporting on Mental Health in a negative way. Have you ever experienced that feeling of not feeling heard or understood or even listened to, shut out and people just tell you to get over it! You’re being ridiculous! They laugh and ridicule? (I’ve experienced this)! This talk is so unhelpful and even more damaging. It actually gives that feeling of being really judged, misunderstood, not heard and really alone and lonely! It makes a person withdraw! Not knowing where to turn. Suicidal thoughts. It’s a very dark hole not knowing how to cope, what to do, where to turn for help! Everyone deserves to be understood! Everyone deserves love! Everyone deserves hope! And there is hope! There is light! There is help! ARE YOU OK?
