02.01.2022 * MAKE TRAINING FUN * Are you having issues keeping your dog interested? Dog getting easily distracted? Read on for some helpful hints and tips - Change the reward. Been using the same tasteless treats for a while now and your dog is no longer interested in working for you: go to a higher value treat or reward. Chicken pieces or a favourite toy (used in training only) are great. ... - Keep calm, patient and have fun with your dog. Spice it up with play and tricks. If you find yourself getting frustrated; finish and come back later. - Keep sessions short: 10 - 15min at a time. End on a high: either with a great attempt at a new skill or a well versed trick. - Don’t rush or move too quickly when teaching something new. Reward every little effort and encourage. And remember to always have full attention on your dog. Put away phones, iPods, turn the tv off, and be there to catch all the good Happy training
