25.01.2022 Not much changes for regional Victoria in today’s announcement but we can expect to see a lot more visitors from Melbourne in our communities. And the best news is we will get to be re-united with our metro based family and friends who we have missed so much!
24.01.2022 What a difference a phone call and a week can make. Last week I visited Avenel with Dale Sheahan Candidate for Hughes Creek Ward Strathbogie Shire and Jennifer Arnold (also a candidate for Hughes Creek Ward) to talk about the need for a safety upgrade at the intersection of Jones Street and the Hume Freeway. While we were there I noticed how long the roadside weeds had grown which made the intersection even more dangerous. So I called VicRoads and within a week the weeds ...have been slashed. Thanks VicRoads for acting so quickly on the weeds. Now about that safety upgrade!!

21.01.2022 Gym junkies and owners are keen to get to back to business in a COVID safe way. The industry has developed COVID safe plans but the Andrews Labor Government is not listening. 21.01.2022 Leadership is about taking responsibility. Throwing a Minister under a bus isn’t leadership, it’s cowardice. The litany of failures ultimately rest with one person, Premier Daniel Andrews. He’s the person who should resign.... 19.01.2022 Normally the State Budget includes a State Capital Program Budget paper usually known as BP4 - this is the paper that reports on timelines and budget allocations to both new and existing projects. This year the Andrews Government failed to publish this document - Why The secrecy? What are they trying to hide? We can only assume they are trying to hide massive cost blowouts and delays in existing projects.
19.01.2022 ‘Lest We Forget’ A lone bugler in the centre of the intersection of Spring and Burke St marked the 11th hour in the 11th day of the 11th month for Remembrance Day 2020.
18.01.2022 A summary of the different restrictions on both sides of the river for border communities in my electorate. Seems bizarre that although we have less cases in Victoria our restrictions still haven’t eased enough to match NSW.
18.01.2022 Last night the Legislative Council passed the Liberal Nationals’ amendment, 19 votes to 15, to protect families of deceased sexual assault victims and allow them to speak out about their loved one. It should never have come to this, but - thanks to our amendments - victims of sexual assault will now not lose their voice. Only Labor MPs voted against this protection.... 16.01.2022 After all the focus on the failure of the Andrews Labor Governments Hotel Quarantine program - which caused more than 99% of all cases in Victoria’s second wave of COVID-19 - you would think the government would have made sure it was working and secure by now. Alas that is apparently not the case!
15.01.2022 There were no changes announced to restrictions for regional Victoria yesterday - a disappointment for those of us hoping our zero case numbers would allow some more flexibility for hospitality, business, dance schools, learn to swim classes, gyms and others. However Daniel Andrews did announce that face mask rules will be tightened. Face shields, scarves, gators, buffs and bandanas were deemed suitable by health experts when Victoria’s active coronavirus numbers were in the ...thousands but apparently not now. Don’t ask me why. All Victorians must now wear only a fitted face mask of two-ply+ material or a surgical mask, with no end date for mask wearing flagged. Wearing other face coverings such as a shield, scarf, gator or bandana will not be allowed after a grace period of two weeks. There remain exemptions for some people including those with breathing conditions and for mental health reasons. So: face shields (unless a mask is worn as well) scarves bandanas face masks only If you have something to say to the Premier, add your voice at www.noconfidence.com.au
15.01.2022 This afternoon the Victorian Parliament had a vote on whether to support Victoria’s agricultural industries against the Chinese Communist Government trade blockades on our exports. Disgracefully, Labor (and others) voted against Victorian farmers, choosing to side with the Chinese Communist Government. The Liberal Nationals have said before, Labor’s Belt and Road deal is all one-way traffic and they will not stand by while Daniel Andrews puts party and ego before Victoria’s i...nterests. That is why a Michael O’Brien-led Liberal Nationals Government will end Labor’s Belt and Road deal with China. Read more: https://www.michaelobrien.com.au/liberal-nationals-to-with/
14.01.2022 Today I joined Avenel residents Jen Arnold and Dale Sheahan and WIN News Shepparton to talk about the need for a safety upgrade on the Hume Freeway between Lambing Gully Rd and Jones Street. In order to cross the freeway residents are forced to run the gauntlet of trucks and other traffic travelling at 110kph and the local Avenel Action Group have been advocating for side road activated 80kph speed limits in this area. School buses also need to cross this section of the free...way and the locals want to see it made safer to avoid a major accident occurring. I raised this issue for them in Parliament last week and I will continue to advocate on their behalf. Another issue that became evident today was the need for VicRoads to cut the grass which is affecting vision and making the intersection even more dangerous.

14.01.2022 Despite Victoria only having 4 COVID -19 cases and there being zero cases in regional Victoria for those of us who live in border communities Victoria is still significantly disadvantaged compared to NSW. Here’s a few examples of how restricted Cobram residents and businesses are compared those in Barooga, and likewise for communities like Yarrawonga/Mulwala, Echuca/Moama, Wodonga/Albury and Mildura/Gol Gol.
14.01.2022 From 11:59pm tonight, all of Victoria will be under the same set of restrictions. That means no matter where you go in the State, there will be no difference in the rule set applied for businesses or individuals. Below is a summary of what was announced earlier today by the Premier. My staff and I are still working through the finer details but these are the important ones.... As always you can leave a question here, or send a message, or email me ([email protected]) and we will do our best to answer anything you might need help with.
13.01.2022 Jenny Mikakos would rather quit as Health Minister than put up with Andrews’ lies and cover-ups. If Labor’s former Health Minister has no confidence in Andrews, why should any Victorian? Sign the petition: www.NoConfidence.com.au... #NoConfidenceLabor See more
13.01.2022 It’s 38 degrees in Shepp today, 36 tomorrow and working up to 40 by next Friday. I just spoke to a fit Shepp bloke who collapsed yesterday due to wearing his mask outside on a 37 degree day. It’s time for Dan to ditch masks outdoors and for settings where we can appropriately social distance. ... Even the experts say the time for compulsory blanket mask rules has passed. Those who still feel they wanted to wear masks would of course be able to wear them wherever they wanted.
13.01.2022 Talking CFA with WIN News Shepparton. The Liberals want to restore and rebuild the CFA to repair the damage done by the Labor Government and make it a stronger independent, volunteer based fire service. Today we launched www.rebuildthecfa.com.au to start the consultation on what is needed. ... If your a volunteer please fill in the survey to tell us how we can assist you to continue to deliver the highest quality service and protection to the community. And if your a community member you can show our volunteers your support by signing the petition.
12.01.2022 On National Police Remembrance Day we remember all police who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This day is also carries a deeply personal meaning as I remember my friend Damian Eyre from Shepparton who together with his partner Steven Tynan from Bendigo was murdered in Walsh St on the 12th October 1988. I also pay tribute to Ray Denman the father of Gail Jenkins who was shot while attending a domestic incident in Numurkah in 1964.... I thank all Police who risk their lives daily to keep our community safe.
11.01.2022 The Andrews Labor Government needs to listen to the concerns of Avenel residents and improve safety at these two intersections with the Hume Freeway before a major accident occurs.
10.01.2022 A deeply disturbing insight into what is really going on in the Victorian Labor Government. This article is written by a Labor insider and former Minister - someone who has first hand experience of the complete disregard the current Labor government has for the checks and balances of good executive government. https://www.heraldsun.com.au//f49d9ad69099ba2cb8bbd5ec88e9
08.01.2022 Allowing only a maximum of 20 people to dine indoors at our restaurants, pubs and clubs is not sustainable. The Hospitality industry are ready to welcome more guests in a COVID safe way. 07.01.2022 Have you lost confidence that Daniel Andrews and Labor are making good decisions? 06.01.2022 Great promotion for Visit Mildura on the footy tonight. Regional Victorians are allowed to holiday in regional Victoria so what better place to visit than Mildura? 04.01.2022 Residents and Police Officers in Whittlesea will be delighted to learn that Danielle Green MP has prioritised police stations and community safety in Mernda, Wallan, Kinglake, Hurstbridge, Diamond Creek and Eltham but not in Whittlesea. I have been advocating for a new Whittlesea Police Station for several years and raised it again in Parliament last week. It’s time Danielle Green joined me in supporting the residents and Police members in Whittlesea. A new Police Station in Whittlesea is well overdue and should be funded in next weeks State Budget!
04.01.2022 Regional Victoria has been told today that we will have to wait weeks or even months before we see a further relaxation on restrictions. This means no relaxation on numbers in restaurants or pubs, no gyms, no church, no dance classes or gymnastics etc, even though we don’t have a single active case of COVID-19 in Northern Victoria and there are only 3 active cases in regional areas south of the divide - 1 each in East Gippsland, Colac and Mitchell Shire. Regional communit...ies have done the hard work and we need to get our economies going again to save jobs and businesses. And we also need our lives back again! Send a message to Daniel Andrews and Labor - sign they petition at www.noconfidence.com.au #NoConfidenceLabor
04.01.2022 Great news that masks are no longer mandatory when you are outside. As the weather heats up in Shepp I know this will be very welcome. Remember they are still compulsory indoors or in situations when you can’t safely distance from others.
03.01.2022 The Andrews Labor Government has torn apart our proud CFA. These changes have undermined the important work of the CFA & its volunteers. 02.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS As a result of intense community pressure, and strong advocacy by the Liberals, there has been a big win for learner drivers. 01.01.2022 King Valley, Milawa, Rutherglen, Nagambie, Heathcote, Harcourt, Mildura, Yarra Valley, Beechworth, Sunbury, Macedon. These are just some of Victoria's world-class wine regions - there are many, many more. But winemakers in each of these regions will suffer from the 200 per cent tariffs just imposed by the Chinese Government on our wine imports.... While Victorian jobs suffer, Daniel Andrews stands by his dodgy Belt and Road deal with the Chinese government. An O’Brien Liberal Nationals government will scrap Labor’s dodgy Belt and Road deal. https://www.michaelobrien.com.au/liberal-nationals-to-with/
