20.01.2022 How on earth do you get a foot in the door when theres 40 people at the open home and 6 offers before youve even had a chance to call your finance guy?! This has been the number one pain point of buyers who have reached out to me in the past 2 weeks. Heres what I tell them... ... You need a way to leverage your position as a Buyer. You need to make the selling agent WANT to put your contract in front of the sellers and say, take it! This is the one you need to accept. You need to find out what is motivating the sellers the most and what is important to THEM when it comes to selling their home. Heres a hint... its not always price (but it usually is). And if you miss out, you need to ask the selling agent WHY, and be open to hear the honest truth.

17.01.2022 Feel-good post A few weekends ago I went into the city to pick up some heels (of course ) I had ordered and when I went to pay for my parking ticket on the way out of Queens Plaza I realised I didnt have my purse and had no emergency money on me to get out of the car park. I approached the Information Desk and explained my story to the lady behind the counter and without batting an eyelid, she gave me $12 out of her own purse to pay for my parking ticket and get me ...out of the car park. I was incredibly grateful for her act of kindness and assured her I would pay her back but she said not to worry about it. . So yesterday I was in the city and realised that same lady was at the Service Counter, so I quickly rushed down to the Coles, grabbed a small bouquet and a cherry ripe (as you can see in the pic) and proceeded to the Service Desk to repay the $12 and extend my sincere thanks with this little gift. . Well, it took her a bit to remember, but when she realised who I was, she thanked me immensely and I think I drew a little tear in her eye. It was obvious I had made her day. Two complete strangers showing a genuine sense of care, giving and kindness can be rare these days but I know its little acts like these that make our world a better place. Paying it forward is so important. I felt amazing for the rest of the day and Im sure she did too. Random acts of kindness to our fellow humans cost next to nothing but the ROI is huge! 11.01.2022 I came into real estate on a whim. A local agency in Redcliffe was looking to hire a Saturday morning girl to assist their sales and property management team. It was a casual role. 4 hours on a Saturday morning. Receipting rent, filing and typing contracts. The pay was crap and all the sales guys smoked in the office. But there was a chance it could lead to more... which it did. An entire career in fact! . No one ever grows up with dreams of becoming a real estate agent. ... Its something you just fall into. And then you either sink or swim. . 20 years later Im still swimming. And a part of me feels like Ive almost perfected my stroke. But Ive still got a long way to go, and that excites me. . Its easy to spot the ones who are passionate about what they do. They commit. They play the long game. And they forever look for ways to improve their craft. . Im excited for whats ahead in my career but Im also mindful that the day I stop loving it, Ill quit. . Theres no halfway in this game. 06.01.2022 When I was 21, I worked as sales support for a Professionals office on the Northside. I learned so much about real estate sales during this time, to the point where I wanted a piece of the sales action myself. This was when I made the decision to get my full real estate agents licence, move citys and start my own agency. That was nearly 20 years ago and in the time that has passed, the one biggest takeaway Ive had from it all is to stay true to yourself.
