24.01.2022 Congratulations to Goulburn Mulwaree Council and Goulburn Hockey on the award of two tenders relating to the refurbishment at last night's council meeting. Polytan were selected to provide a refurbished water based field, at a cost of $1,710,137. Polytan are an experienced company in the provision of hockey turf fields, and were the sole supplier for hockey surfacing for the 2016 Olympic Games. Power by Watts were awarded the tender for the design and construction of a new L...ED lighting system for the two fields, to be capable of hosting national grade competitions. The existing light poles will be retained, with the project to cost $344,971. Upgraded men’s and women’s change rooms, and a new 132 space sealed car park are also to be constructed as part of the wider project which will see the Goulburn Regional Hockey Facility able to cater to state and national hockey championship requirements. $3.8 million has been provided by the NSW Government through the Restart NSW Program, with the Goulburn Hockey Association also contributing $200,000. Goulburn Mulwaree Council purchased the complex off the Goulburn Workers Club in November 2020 for $3 million in order to secure the future of hockey in this region

23.01.2022 Binalong Public School P & C was recently successful in a Community Building Partnership Grant of $20,000 to extend their covered walkways for shelter in wet (or hot) weather. During my visit, and after a short discussion of what else the school needed, the P&C let me know that they were hoping to get air-conditioning for the hall (which was recently refurbished thanks to a $30,000 grant from the State Governments Before and After School Care Program). Over the holidays they... circulated a petition in the village and collected over 100 signatures. Which I then presented to our Premier Gladys Berejiklian - who agreed to fund the $10,125 project. Another great win for a small school that I couldn't be prouder of!

06.01.2022 Two of our brigade members were honoured to be awarded the Individual Community Service Australia Day Award this morning in Yass. This is very well deserved. ...They have allowed the use of their land too various organisations to raise money in the annual Bowning Hill Walk. They’re very active members of the community and volunteer there time to a number of organisations including our brigade which they have been an active part of for a number of years. Congratulations Frances & Stuart Atkins. See more
