15.01.2022 Out of an abundance of caution & in light of recent health advice, Wenonah Lodge will go into a PRECAUTIONARY CLOSURE from 6pm on Saturday 26 June 2021. This means that there will be no visitors allowed at Wenonah Lodge. This decision will be reviewed on Thursday 1 July 2021 where we may go restricted visitation. Thank you for your understanding on this.... WCC staff are to wear masks when attending clients homes, in the offices and cars. This will mean all clients who are getting transport will need to sit in the back seat for social distancing as per health advice. Transport until further notice will be for appointments or shopping only.

07.01.2022 BIG Hello from Tracy at Wenonah Community Care Wenonah Community Care would like to reassure our elderly who are staying at home that they will continue to receive our services and support in the home and that we are here to help with other services if needed. In the midst of this ongoing pandemic we are all attempting to adapt and change to the new lifestyle thrust upon us. ... I would like to ask you how are you feeling throughout the changes in your life thus far? Or How would you feel if you were one of our aged citizens? Being told to stay at home, taking away social interaction giving fewer chances to intact with people let alone family members. Handshakes and hugs no longer being permitted to be a part of accepted lifestyle along with social distancing? This can be challenging for our older clients and community members, spurring emotions of abandonment, hopelessness, fear and anxiety. The team at Wenonah Community Care would like to know if there anything that we can do for you? We can offer services of social well being, ringing or checking in on a client or someone over 65 who is at home, socially isolating, just to let you know that you are not alone, and somebody is there for you. Our meals on wheels service can deliver home cooked meals along with a dessert and juice if you are needing help with your nutrition. This is delivered by one of our dedicated and friendly team members either be it a volunteer or staff member. Are you finding shopping difficult or worried that you need to stay home? Why not let us do this for you? During this time of isolation if you or someone you know can use assistance from Wenonah Community Care please feel free to ring 6374 2088 for help. Staff and volunteers have been asked to ensure good hand hygiene and to maintain 1.5m distance, we urge and encourage you to do the same. With a common sense approach we are able to ensure the safety of clients and workers at all times. It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving but like the morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living -F.Scott Fitzgerald

03.01.2022 We have surveyed our residents today (1/6/2020) about when they would like to move to restricted visitation and the results are as follows: a) Now 39% b) Mid-June 2020 50% c) End of June 2020 11%... This indicates that most residents DO NOT want to open up Wenonah Lodge to inside visiting at this stage. We will continue with all the current practices eg Window of Love, sitting & talking through the fence, supported phone calls, supported video calls etc
