24.01.2022 A torn hip labrum can often times be an overworking pectineus, a situation known as a "pectineal pinch". It can mimic the discomfort of a torn labrum and not re...quire surgery. NKT often finds a synergistic relationship between the pectins and psoas since both are hip flexors. When a smaller synergist becomes the primary mover injury isn't far behind. This article details the pectineal pinch. https://www.dynamicchiropractic.com/mpacms/dc/article.php See more

21.01.2022 The pectoralis minor, when overworking, can cause many problems for the shoulder. The pec minor protracts, downwardly rotates, and depresses the scapula. This i...s the muscle of rounded shoulders. it is a synergist to the serratus anterior in protraction but a functional opposite in upward and downward rotation. Because the serratus and pec minor are connected fascially they can truly affect each other's movement. For example, inability to abduct the humerus may be because the pec minor is overworking and the serratus anterior underworking. NKT testing issued to determine that this relationship exists before releasing the pec minor and activating the serratus. If this is truly the fundamental relationship the arm should abduct easily after the protocol. If not, it was not the fundamental relationship. See more

16.01.2022 The diaphragm, aside from breathing and being part of the intrinsic core, also has relationships with many other parts of the body. In NKT we often find it over...working due to underworking muscles like the abs, psoas, QL, etc. This blog details its local and global relationships. https://neurokinetictherapy.com//diaphragm-and-its-global/ See more

07.01.2022 My client was playing tennis and felt pain on the medial side of her knee. She pointed to an area below the kneecap, the pes anserinus. The pes anserinus is for...med by the tendons of the semitendinosus, sartorius, and gracilis. It also has a bursa. Her knee looked inflamed, suspiciously like pes anserinus bursitis. NKT testing found all 3 muscles underworking, especially the gracilis. When those 3 fail to perform it puts extra pressure on the medial knee to stabilize itself. Thus the bursitis. In the end the iliacus and adductor magnus were overworking and released and the gracilis activated along the medial hip line. Her knee felt and moved better. See more

05.01.2022 My client works at a computer all day long and now has neck, upper back, and hip pain. Looking at the head forward posture, upper crossed syndrome, I decided to... test those muscles. NKT testing found the neck extensors, both cervical and upper thoracic overworking and the pecs, both sternal and clavicular heads, underworking. Released the neck and upper back then activated the pecs one side at a time. Neck and back pain better, but hips still hurt. Then we found the psoas overworking and the opposite pecs underworking, like in a gait relationship. Released the psoas followed bu activation of the opposite pecs, one side at a time. Hip pain much better. See more

05.01.2022 This article highlights the effects of having poor posture while using a computer. It's called Upper Crossed Syndrome, where the pecs and traps are tight and th...e lower traps and rhomboids, plus the neck flexors are weak. NKT recognizes these relationships but tests to determine which ones are neurologically overactive and which underactive. https://www.healthfitchiro.com//posture-and-upper-crossed- See more
