25.01.2022 NSW Borders are open to all and so are we... Truly a smell of a freedom in the air as the Military Museum enjoys visits from our regional Victorians today. With our restrictions still in place for 7 visitors at a time, we have maxed out and have a rotation of in and outs to maintain a Covid Safe environment. ... Great to hear the feedback on just how good our Marching Matilda Experience is as we once again share with our Australian visitors. To the 14,000 NSW Police men and women and our members of the ADF who have manned the crossings through rain, hail and shine. The most heartfelt thank you to you all for keeping us safe during the past months. I was great to have met you and shared our museum experience with you too. Looking forward to seeing you again when you come back to our region with your families and friends for a stay... Thanks again

23.01.2022 Off to a great start for 2021... With current border closures in place we were concerned of the impact it would have on the Wentworth Military Museum moving into the New Year... Yesterday had seen the most visitors on a Sunday since we opened in our current location in 2015. Thank you to all who supported our re-opening and gave the museum such a great kick start. Everyone was impressed with our Marching Matilda Experience and we had a comment in the visitors book that we were the best they have seen, outside of Canberra. With Student Passes also coming through the door... it is great to see some form of normality to our visitations.

22.01.2022 Very excited indeed.... The Wentworth Military Collection has applied to be one of the NSW Museums and Galleries to accept the NSW dining and entertainment vouchers which will be rolled out to greater NSW January 2021. Sydney and Broken Hill while be trialing the system this December. We are very appreciative of our NSW Government’s initiative in this voucher program and we realise that this gives all of NSW a reason to visit our military museum as part of their visit to our... part of the state. It is evident that our commitment to being Covid Safe and making the effort to remain open was worth while and really has the potential to getting our museum to the next level and stage in our vision. We have always been a museum and collection for us all and this initiative offers the much needed support from us all to really move forward. Help us to continue Sharing their stories... for Generations to come...

22.01.2022 A wonderful visitor experience for Chris and his family this morning... A chance for Chris to try on a Naval Cap on from his family’s homeland of China while discovering the Marching Matilda Experience. Always nice to have visitors make a connection with our history on display... a common thread that brings us together.... A fact that is often demonstrated through our Common Bonds Exhibit at the Wentworth Military Collection.

21.01.2022 Today we bid farewell to our good friend that we have come to love over the past 12 months... Fast humour, common sense, assistance to our more fragile volunteers and a great supporter of the ongoing work that we do at the Wentworth Military Museum. Lyle has been working Security next door for Service NSW since the pandemic hit our illustrious state of NSW. Since then he has certainly become one of the best things to come out of Covid. A true friend, a freindly face who has... made completing a shift at the museum a unique day to day experience. Not only did we develop a great mate in Lyle, but made a stronger partnership with Service NSW... particularly welcomed with the release of the Dine and Discover NSW Vouchers. Having a son in the Royal Australian Navy, we felt it only fitting to give a thank you and farewell gift that gave his son’s service a shout out as well. Thanks Lyle... Wenty has lost it’s adopted Security Son... and getting through Covid would not have been same without you. Cheers to you and Helen... looking forward to catch up again at some stage... You will forever be the first Social Media post to break the 10,000 mark....

17.01.2022 On behalf of the Board and Volunteers of the Wentworth Military Collection, we wish you a Happy New Year. 2021 will see the Collection commemorate 10 years on public display, see the installation and unveiling of our Peace Memorial, supporting of The Mildura Walking Off The War Within, our local Legacy Branch and our supporting partners Soldier On. All in all a pretty full on year to come and although border closures are in place, we encourage our locals to visit our Militar...y Museum and take up the Marching Matilda Experience for themselves. Our Border Region only require s a Photo ID to complete a return trip from Mildura to Wentworth and back. Well... we are done and dusted for another year having sold out of our 2020 Christmas Puddings again this year... with a huge thank you to our Sunraysia Farmers Market for their efforts to get back up and running in time for the festive season. Thank you to all those who have supported our annual fundraising efforts this Christmas... every pudding sold supports our local Military Museum and assists us to continue to share the stories of our nation‘s m...ilitary service and share the common bonds of military service from around the world. In a year that has seen many challenges, many hoops being jumped through and extended efforts by our volunteers just to simply keep the museum doors open... your support has truly demonstrated that our efforts are really appreciated and that the job we do, carries with it, a level of respect that gives us a self-pride in what we actually do. On behalf of the Wentworth Military Collection board and museum volunteers, we thank you for everything that you have done and continue to do to allow our museum to move forward. 03.01.2022 The Wentworth Military Collection as of today can now welcome up to 20 visitors at a time... As Covid restrictions continue to lift the Wentworth Military Collection welcomes the increased maximum of 20 visitors to the museum. Our Covid register has been replaced with a Sign-in QR Code.... Visitors will need to download the FREE Service NSW APP to sign in. This app will allow you to sign into any NSW establishment including Cafes, Pubs, and other Covid Safe Attractions. We are looking forward to the potential of group visits of up to 20 returning to the museum and in time for the December Holidays.
