21.01.2022 HOW DO I ACTUALLY REACH MY HEALTH AND FITNESS GOALS THIS TIME?! In my last post I talked about our game plan. But how do we ensure that this game plan works? We've all made goals before and not reached them. We all know that consistent exercise, healthy eating and sufficient rest, will get you a healthy, happy body. But HOW do we make it happen? You just have to get up, even when you don't want to and do what ever you need to do to continue closer to those goals. Look at you...r biggest inspiration or anyone who is successful at anything. Think about whether they'd be where they are if they didn't work hard through the times they didn't want to get up? Let me tell you, they wouldn't. Pushing through the harder times is where your determination comes in. You have to be determined that you ARE going to stay consistent no matter what, and follow through. Finding something you enjoy doing will make staying consistent easier because you'll have less of those "I don't feel like it moments". Don't like lifting weights? Don't like running? Don't like yoga? There are SO many more choices than these "normal" options for exercise. Like Dance Fitness classes ;) (or boxing, or ball sports, or swimming, or martial arts, or rock climbing - the list goes on). Don't get it twisted though, don't think for a second that you will never have any "I don't feel like it moments" JUST because you're doing something you enjoy. They will still come! Just less often and you'll probably find the "I don't want to" feeling isn't as strong. So moral of the story, consistency is all about just doing what you need to do even when you're not excited about it. Would any of us still have a job if we only went to work when we were excited about it? How would our kids be smelling if we only changed their nappies when we were excited about it? How would our houses be looking if we only cleaned when we were excited about it? These are things that people push through that "I don't want to" feelings for EVERYDAY. Add your exercise and healthy eating to that list ladies!!

13.01.2022 HOW DO I ACTUALLY REACH MY HEALTH AND FITNESS GOALS THIS TIME?! Hi Everyone! Leading up to the New Year, I am going to be posting some tips on reaching your health and fitness goals! New Years resolutions only work if YOU DO! Don't forget that ;) So, how do I stay on track and ACTUALLY achieve my goals this time? This is such an important one. As a qualified personal trainer, I have seen so many people start towards a goal and then when motivation fizzles out, or it gets s...uper hard, or maybe one month they don't get the results they wanted, maybe they go a month without exercising and the healthy heating slips due to a busy period at work - they stop or they take a step back and start doing less and slipping into old habits. Reaching goals (in anything, not just health and fitness) requires a solid game plan and then consistency and determination towards the steps that are in that game plan. So plan it. How much weight do you want to lose (or maybe put on)? How far do you want to run and in what time? What weight do you want to lift? How do you want to feel? How do you want to look? Write your end goal down. Then your half way goal. Then fill in the gaps to create more achievable steps towards your goals. FOR EXAMPLE! Betty wants to lose 20 kg in 1 year In 6 months she wants to lose 10 kg That means 5 kg every 3 months which is just over 1.5 kg per month and 420 grams per week. Notice how achievable that makes losing 20 kg seem? If Betty trains 3 times per week, eats healthy 90% of the time, drinks 2-3 litres of water per day and gets 8 hours of sleep each night, she will reach that end goal. No crazy diets, no over training, no starving. Just consistency to a GOOD GAME PLAN in relation to when and how she trains, having her food prepared and allowing the time to get a good nights sleep. If you need help creating a good game plan, I offer $20 sit down planning sessions to assist you with this. Just message me to find out more!

11.01.2022 Today is #RUOK day. Such an important thing to be raising awareness about and something that I hold very close to my heart. Trust that instinct that you get if someone close to you is acting different or showing behaviours they wouldn't normally. By starting a conversation with that person and offering support, you could be helping them beyond measure. Even if it's as simple as telling them that you're here for them if they ever need it or when they're ready to talk. No one wants to feel alone. To all my past, present and future students and clients, please know that I am always here, happy to listen and will never judge. You are never alone.

06.01.2022 Have been having SO much fun learning this choreography with one of my students, Michelle! Really, what kind of teacher are you if you don't admit that you can learn things from your students?! One that does not know much at all I learn from my students ALL the time....not only about dance, they all have their own knowledge and experiences to share and it's wonderful to have such amazing women in my life. Thank you so much for teaching me this lovely

05.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! Hope you have all had a productive day so far! Just remember, in the midst of a busy Monday, it is important to take the time to do at least one thing that will inch you that little bit closer to your own personal goals.Things that will improve or maintain your own health and fitness so you can continue being the super woman that you are. Get yourself active, go for a walk, get to the gym, do a class, have a dance around the lounge room. Make sure you ...fuel your body with nutritious, delicious and fulfilling food. If you haven't yet done so, this is your reminder that you still have a good 4-5 hours left before bed time. Get to it girl!! You've got this.
