25.01.2022 We have at present, two different size crusher shafts for overhaul, Tertiary ( smaller teeth) and Primary (large teeth). We also overhaul the Secondary crusher shafts but have none at the moment. The raw material passes through all 3 sets of shafts, starting with the Primary, then the Secondary and finally the Tertiary, breaking it down to a manageable size and removing any rocks in the process.

24.01.2022 It’s been a big job however the Disc Filter Assembly is finally complete and wrapped for long term storage. Here's the before and after shots of the Disc Filter components (before and after wrapping). Nicely done Team Werner!!

18.01.2022 Finally, our new CNC Vertical Borer foundations are completed. After 2 tonne of steel and 13 truck loads of cement and many hours of planning, organising and calculating. Well done to Doug, Nigel and crew that helped in this very important step. The stability and accuracy of the new machine depends on how well the construction of its footings are done. Next test is running of the power cables. Depicted are the various stages of the construction of the footings.

16.01.2022 Digging the hole for the new Vertical Borer continues.. Before the actual digging to the foundations for the new borer can start in earnest, the foundations of the old borer has to be removed. To make it more manageable it was cut in half using a wire rope with industrial diamonds impregnated into it. I have never seen this done before, so it was an eye opener. It took about one and a half hours not bad cutting through steel and cement. The thing that caught all by surprise..., was the weight of the old foundations 28 tonne. 14.01.2022 Out with the old, in with the new. Today we removed our old Vertical Borer built in 1947 to make way for our new CNC Vertical Borer. Before it arrives towards the end of December, we have to lay new foundations and let the concrete cure for some time, to handle the 78 tonne sitting on top of it. Will keep you up to date on the installation progress. Exciting times ahead for Werner Engineering!

12.01.2022 With our old Vertical Borer removed, the floor cut up, slab removed, located under ground piped and wiring, now for the removal of the old borer’s foundation. This could be fun, we know how much cement and steel went in, but how much does it weigh? That is the question. All going to plan our new CNC Vertical Borer should be loaded on to the ship overseas at the beginning of November. Hopefully in Mackay ready for installation mid December so we have to have the foundation completed and cured by then!!

08.01.2022 The Floor Borer is finally free to machine the next process in the making of our Pin Pushers. The photos (in comment) and videos show the borer drilling, boring and internally threading the Pin Pushers, where the hydraulic ram will screw into.

07.01.2022 Pin Pushers are complete, assembled and now being packed into their individual protective transport cases. Each Pin Pusher is allocated a serial number and tracked to record any future work required on them and for servicing history. Our customer service does not end just because it has left our workshop. The Werner Team takes pride in what they produce.

06.01.2022 PTA (Plasma Transfer Arc) welding A process we use here at Werners to put a hard coating on parts that are in a harsh, abrasive environments. The video shows the PTA welder hard facing the outside of a spacer.
