25.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW....??? Initially jazz was termed 'jasm' and became more common around the 1920s when many artists were favoring its hybrid, improvisational sound - which was back then a combination of marching band music, blues and ragtime music! :D

They usually cue the end of their solos with nods, or they may end of the piece by pointing their fingers at their heads (meaning it’s time to play the head the main theme or original melody of a song). ... Louis celebrated his birthday on the wrong date his entire life. ... His true birthday of 4th August was proven years after his death in 1971. Louis' career spanned five decades!!

06.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW...??? The jazz ballad 'Cry Me A River' was originally written for Ella Fitzgerald to sing for a movie but was dropped at the last minute. In 1955, Julie London recorded the song under the guidance of her future husband jazz musician Bobby Troup and it launched her career as a jazz singer. Ella later recorded the song in 1961....
