24.01.2022 Football Victoria (FV) welcomes Football Federation Australias (FFA) announcement today that all football (soccer) competitions across Victoria have been postp...oned until 14 April. This decision will be reviewed, and further advice provided at that time. Updates will continue to be provided regularly on the FV Website at www.footballvictoria.com.au/ FV President Kimon Taliadoros said the difficult decision was clearly in the best interests of the Victorian footballing communitys safety, health and wellbeing. "FV has listened to, and wholeheartedly supports, our football family members and wants to allow them time and space to focus on their higher order priorities," Mr Taliadoros said. FV CEO Peter Filopoulos confirmed FV acknowledged the health advice and guidelines outlined by FFA, the Federal Government and Public Health Officers yesterday. It has become clear that in the current environment, communities are increasingly unable to focus on football activities which is completely understandable, Mr Filopoulos said. "Whilst we have some competitions already in season, several extra competitions were due to kick-off across Victoria this weekend. This includes our NPLW (Senior Womens), NPL 2 and NPL 3 Senior Men and Mens State Leagues. Read More here: https://ftbl.vc/3aXjq1e
22.01.2022 Werribee City FC is excited to announce the return to "limited" training for our NPL Youth (U18s and U20s) and NPL Junior squads. Following the further easing of restrictions and working together with Football Victoria, Wyndham City Council and all relevant club stakeholders, we are moving forward with a return to training structure in a staggered approach to ensure the safety and well being of everybody associated with the club and the broader com...munity is maintained. The first stage of this staggered approach saw our NPL Senior squad return to limited training, this next stage will allow our NPL squads to return and the final stage will see the return of our Female and Miniroos squads. The staggered approach enables the club committee and operational volunteers to slowly and carefully work through and apply the very strict conditions that we MUST follow in order to get back to training. Once the club is comfortable that our NPL players and parents can manage and adhere to the strict guidelines we will provide the detail associated with getting our miniroos and female squads back on the pitch also. U18s and U20s return to training this week (Weds and Thurs nights only) together with our senior squads. All Junior NPL squads (U13 - U16) return to training this week (Tues night only). Specific times will be communicated to all via email from your respective Team Manager. Please watch the video attached for the WCFC detailed protocols. If you have any questions at all please contact your respective Team Manager. Be safe and be responsible - we are all relying on each other in order to enable us to commence getting back to a sense of normality. Thank you all WCFC COMMITTEE

20.01.2022 To all of our WCFC community, We certainly hope you are all well, everything considered.... WCFC Senior Coach Serge Sabbadini has made the decision not to continue in the senior coaching role effective immediately. The club and Serge have differing views regarding the short term strategic direction of the club. The club respects the reasons behind Serges decision. Everyone associated with WCFC over the last 5 years would confirm that Serge has been nothing but a great asset to the senior playing group and the club as a whole. He has been an absolute professional, demanding the same form everyone at the club, focused in his pursuit to achieve success without compromising his desire to showcase quality football. The club improved every year that Serge was in charge, from a playing results perspective. We came very close in 2019 to achieving promotion and unfortunately this year we did not even get to showcase our potential as a genuine NPL2 threat, due to circumstances beyond our control. The club are disappointed that the events of the last 6 months (COVID driven) have led to this outcome. We have tremendous respect for Serge, consider him a friend of the club and sincerely thank him for his contribution to our club which has made us a better organisation in many different ways, most importantly developing a Werribee City FC "football playing style" unrivalled amongst our competition. In any event, life at WCFC goes on and we immediately turn our attention to preparing for season 2021. The club has already commenced the search for a senior coaching replacement and are in the process of speaking to several candidates we feel would be suitable to take the club through the next phase of our ongoing development. The COVID19 situation has impacted the club in the most profound way. I want to personally thank you all for continuing to support the club throughout the year under very challenging circumstances. Whilst we will all share the sentiment that the year was a complete and absolute waste of time and effort, we need to find a way to look for some positives, even simple thoughts such as, next year is not far away and we will all be stronger from the experience. Thank you and good luck Serge Sabbadini. GO BEES!! WCFC Chairman Giovanni Inserra

14.01.2022 To all of the WCFC Community, We trust that you are safe and well during this very difficult period for us all.... The club wanted to provide a message regarding potential refunds for the impacted 2019 season. At this stage the club has still not received any further correspondence from FV regarding the status of the proposed shortened season for 2020. In saying this, it is the opinion of WCFC that there will not be any further competition played in any age group this year. Irrespective, WCFC requires confirmation from Football Victoria as to an amount that will be refunded to all clubs for the various age group registration fees. Until WCFC receive this information we will not be in a position to confirm what, if any refund is able to be paid to all of our registered players. This is quite a complicated issue and the club needs to take into account costs it has incurred through the year as well as the FV registration fee refund, prior to confirming any pro rata refund and what this would amount to for each player. The club certainly appreciates that many of our players have not experienced any competitive football this year and we accept the expectation of parents regarding fee refunds. This is a very difficult situation for parents, players, supporters, volunteers and the club itself and we ask for the continued patience and understanding of all as we continue to work through this and the impact it will have on the club. Take care and stay safe. Yours sincerely Giovanni Inserra WCFC Chairman

14.01.2022 To our WCFC Community,... The club recently received the details of Football Victoria (FV) 2020 Fee Refund Policy. The policy has been finalised following the official cancellation of all Victorian football competitions for season 2020 due to COVID-19 - NPL juniors and Miniroos competitions had not yet been cancelled. The FV refund policy will be outlined to the public on Tuesday 15th September. Clubs, players, officials, administrators, Associations across the country and Football Victoria itself have all been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Survey data gathered by the Australian Sports Foundation indicated a total financial loss across Australias 70,000 Community Clubs this year of $1.6 billion. Many Clubs will struggle to survive into 2021. FV has developed a refund policy taking into consideration costs incurred by FV in twice preparing for football competitions to commence. The policy detailed for each competition (NPL, Womens and Miniroos) provides a refund for fees paid for each registered player, less appropriately apportioned costs incurred by FV. WCFC is working through these details and we have commenced structuring our own fee refund policy for all players who paid fees in full for 2020. WCFC, like all other clubs, will take a similar approach to FV in finalising refund amounts, less appropriately apportioned club costs to each competition. FV will provide all clubs the credits associated with the refund policy by end October 2020. All clubs then have until end of November to finalise their own refund policy and pass on credits to players. WCFC is considering providing options to players on how to deal with the FV Player Registration Fee refund other than by way of cash transfer to the player e.g. a player may, at their sole discretion, allow the Club to keep the amount or to rollover to the 2021 season. We will communicate these options clearly to all players and leave the decision to each individual player. While we appreciate all of our players would like to receive their refunds as quickly as possible, the above noted timeframe will allow all clubs to finalise their own refund policies with the aim to distribute all returned monies together. WCFC sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this very challenging issue. Yours Sincerely WCFC Committee GO BEES!

09.01.2022 - This afternoon we received the unfortunate, though not unexpected news, from the Premier Daniel Andrews that Metropolitan Melbourne will return to STAGE 3 restrictions effective 11:59pm Wednesday 8th July. Whilst we are still to receive the details associated with these re-imposed restrictions and what that means for all sporting clubs, it is likely that we will be confined to our homes except for work, medical, shopping or exercise reasons. It is unlikel...y that team sports will be included as a valid reason to exercise. Training for our squads can still take place tonight and tomorrow night. The WCFC committee will be meeting tomorrow night and we will provide a more detailed update following. This latest turn of events is extremely frustrating for all of our players, parents, coaches, volunteers and supporters as we came so close to re-commencing competitive matches again however we understand why the State Government has made the decision that they have in an effort to again attempt to gain control of the pandemic. Our players across all of our squads will now likely have to wait again before being able to participate in the game they love. Yours Sincerely WCFC

We now have clear dates for the resumption of competitive training and matches (full contact sport) as follows:... 22 June 18 years and under full contact training and competitions 13 July adult full contact training 20 July adult full contact competitions The above dates impact the FV proposed return to competition dates for NPL seniors/20s/18s which was anticipated to be 11th July. The earliest that the senior competition can resume is now Saturday 24th July. Current proposed JBNPL (4th July) and Community (28th June) return to competition dates still seem achievable. 03.01.2022 ** (-) ** May 23, 2020 Dear Parents, Players and Coaches,... Werribee City FC sincerely hopes that all of the WCFC community and their friends and family are safe and healthy as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 crisis. It is certainly positive that we seem to be seeing an improvement in the overall situation with Government commencing the easing of restrictions. Part of the easing of restrictions revolves around Community Sport, which we have not been able to participate in for many weeks now. As many of you may know, in the last few days Football Victoria released a framework titled Return to Training which sets the conditions with which football clubs can undertake training under current restrictions. : https://www.werribeecityfc.com.au/ Yours Sincerely Werribee City FC

02.01.2022 To all our Werribee City FC Football Community The last 2 months have been very difficult for us all as we have navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. Nobody in our community has escaped the impact and effects the virus has had on our daily lives. We are not through the virus crisis just yet however we are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel with rates of infection decreasing across the country and some states starting to ease various restrictions. From a football p...erspective, the Football Federation Australia (FFA) has produced guidelines in readiness for a return to football and Football Victoria (FV) have also been planning for a range of scenarios to get us all back to playing football as soon as possible. We hope for some good news from the Federal Government this Friday and the State Government on Monday that will allow us to firstly resume some form of training activity and then hopefully the ability to participate in competitive matches as soon as possible. Whilst football still remains suspended until 31st May at this stage, the club is hoping for and starting to plan on the resumption of football activities and we will share these details once we have clear direction from all relevant authorities. Last week, FV confirmed its full support for the Australian Governments COVIDSafe app. The app has been launched by the Federal Government as part of its plan to slow and mange the spread of COVID-19, and it will help state and territory health officials to quickly alert people who may be at risk of having contact with the virus. The Werribee City FC committee encourages all of our football community to download the COVIDSafe app as we support the sentiments of FFA and the other member associations. The more WCFC supporters, players, parents, coaches and volunteers download the app, the sooner we will be to resuming full football activities and the safer we will all be when we do so. The details of the COVIDsafe app can be found in the following links: https://apps.apple.com/au/app/covidsafe/id1509242894 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details In the meantime stay safe, if you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact the club through Facebook or email [email protected] Yours Sincerely Giovanni Inserra Chairman WCF

01.01.2022 Football Victoria has announced that the temporary suspension on all competitions and football activities has been extended until May 31, 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, in line with the release from Football Federation Australia yesterday evening. 20-09 FFA Circular - Extension of suspension of grassroots football in Australia At that time, a subsequent decision will be made about whether football can resume thereafter, or wheth...er the temporary suspension will be extended further. It remains Football Victorias intention to operate the 2020 NPL and Community seasons in some form and the team are working tirelessly to that end. As per previous WCFC correspondence regarding the COVID19 situation and any potential registration fee refunds, at this stage the situation remains unchanged in that the 2020 seasons across Female, Miniroos, NPL and JBNPL competitions remain suspended only not cancelled or shortened. WCFC is not and will not be in a position to consider the impact (financial or otherwise) of a cancelled or shortened season until such time that we are notified accordingly by FFA and/or FV. In order to help the grassroots football community stay active and connected throughout this time, FFA recently launched an online Skills Hub, developed in association with each of Australias Member Federations. To access the Skills Hub and get involved with the #PlayAtHomeChallenge, please visit www.playfootball.com.au/skills-hub. Football Victoria has also launched #LiveLoveFootball At Home, an all-ages campaign across multiple social channels to keep the Victorian football community entertained and engaged during the temporary suspension period. FV certainly has the option to extend the season if we have sooner than expected relief from COVID19 - we certainly all hope that this is the case. Again, until such time that a decision is made by FFA/FV we cannot provide any further advice on this matter. WCFC thank you all for your patience and understanding regarding this very difficult situation. Please stay healthy and safe as we all navigate through these challenges.

FFA, FV and Council are still in consultation with relevant parties including Sport and Recreation Victoria and State Sporting Associations, to understand what the State directions mean for community sport in terms of training recommencing. Once this is clearer, we will provide an update on our ability to formally access reserves for club sanctioned training/activities.
