24.01.2022 *ATTENTION* All official trainings for tonight have been cancelled. The official advice from the WGBC is that we do not partake in physical activities outdoors. ... This is based on a recommendation due to the measured pollutants in the air in the Werribee area being deemed Very Unhealthy. If people choose to train or partake in physical activity outdoors they do so on their own volition and the WGBC take no responsibility for any health issues that may occur as a result. An ongoing appraisal will be made for the foreseeable future in relation to training and games scheduled.

22.01.2022 Sorry for the delay but here is two weeks worth of our The Park Player of the Week. Congratulations to Wade Lucas Balzer and Joshua Lee. Wade was involved in a big way when Werribee defeated St Kilda firsts when he hit a 2 run home run. He also had some solid at bats a good game in the field. ... The following week Josh shutout St Kilda firsts when he pitched 7 innings (complete game) tallying 12ks and only allowing 3 hits and 2 walks. Josh also went 1-3 with an RBI with the bat. Enjoy your $50 each to The Park. Well done to our other nominees: Masters: Andrew Smith who pitched 4 innings getting 4ks and also going 2-3 with a double on his birthday. Darren Power who went 2-2 and caught the entire game. Fourths: Ben King who took 4 big fly ball catches in the OF before closing out the game on the hill. Kalam Brian who went 2-2 with 2 doubles (team only got three hits total). Thirds: Ben Van Andel who went 4-5 with two doubles. Chris Owen who pitched well despite errors in the field. Seconds: Alex Pham who pitched 4 innings who allowed 4 hits whilst striking out 3.

19.01.2022 Update from WGBC Hi, as you are all probably aware restrictions have eased in metropolitan Victoria. What this means for baseball is the following. ... Juniors: Are able to train in groups of 20 (excluding the coach) Seniors: Are able to train in groups of 10 (excluding the coach) The Werribee Giants Baseball Club are still working with local officials to progress with the allowance of trainings to progress. We aim for seniors to be able to commence trainings as of Thursday 29/10/2020. How training will look will be posted in the Werribee Giants ALL SENIORS page. Juniors will most likely start their trainings on Tuesday 03/11/2020. *IMPORTANT* for anyone who wishes to train MUST complete out the online registration form https://regoform.mygameday.app/. This is of no cost at this stage. This is a non negotiable condition. Anyone who hasn’t completed this form will not be permitted to train. Baseball Victoria are working on updating their COVID-19 FAQ and Return to Activity / Return to Play Documents. 11.01.2022 WE ARE BACK TO TRAINING!! Thursday 28th of may 5:30 pm. We all MUST follow strict guidelines for this to happen.... Firstly we must register online via baseball Victoria. Its free of charge. *No one will be able to train unless they have registered. If anyone finds it difficult to register just send through a message and we will help. We will also share the link to register. For any newcomers wanting to join the club please message us so we can also help you with registration. We will be running through all the protocols on the night so we all have a good understanding of what needs to be done. The guidelines to training.. -maximum 10 per group + coach. -must adhere to the 1.5m social distance. -hand sanitation every 20minutes. Club will supply sanitiser, bring your own if you can. -no sharing of equipment. (Balls allowed) -names are to be recorded in the group(s). Now please if you haven't committed to training via the players group, do so asap so we can get a rough idea of numbers. 04.01.2022 As some may already be aware a decision has been made by Baseball Victoria that the Werribee Giants Baseball Club will not be promoted into Division 1 for the 2020/21 Summer Season, instead we will again compete in Division 2. This result is unfortunately due to only just missing out on the numbers required for our junior team requirements. Whilst this decision is greatly disappointing we as a club believe that our club will rise to the challenge to ensure we hold the key c...omponents to qualify for promotion and to obviously compete at the high level in Division 2 once again to afford ourselves the opportunity once again. There is no doubt that our club holds the personnel required to get us there once again. Our seniors have achieved some great results over the past 7 or so years making finals regularly. Our club also has shown a growth in junior participation which has been evident with the introduction of the Point Cook and Tarneit baseball clubs. Our committee whilst somewhat fresh faced are committed to getting the job done in further developing our beloved game of baseball within the Wyndham community. If we can continue on our path we envisage that we will have our own junior charter with the Tarneit, Point Cook, Truganina and Wyndham Vale clubs which will be governed by the Werribee Giants Baseball Club Inc. Finally we as a club would like to thank everyone for their commitment and support so far.
