25.01.2022 The 25th of April is a special day for all of us. It is on that day in 1915 that the Anzacs set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula in order to open the Dardanelles to the allied navies. The Anzacs landed at Gallipoli only to be met with a large resistance from Ottoman and Turkish forces. The campaign would quickly become a stalemate in which over 8,000 Austtalian soldiers would die over a total of 8 months. ... This is why the 25th of April is so important for all of us. Take a minute each and every 25th of April to remember those who fell and those who endured and survived. By taking just 1 minute each year to remember shows you are greatful for their efforts. The Ode ---------------------- They shall grow not old, as we that are left to grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. ---------------------- Lest we forget.
