24.01.2022 The NSW Nationals have been attacked by many of the city-centric members in the Parliament of NSW this week... but all they’ve done is show how out of touch they are with our rural and regional communities. This article from the ABC’s Kelly Fuller, from a prospective outside of the Macquarie St. bubble, highlights the importance of our stance over the past few weeks. https://www.abc.net.au//nsw-koala-crisis-in-macqu/12672296

24.01.2022 WAGGA MULTISPORT CYCLING COMPLEX SOD TURNING! It was an absolute pleasure to host Minister Geoff Lee in Wagga, to turn the first sod for the new $9.2M Multisport Cycling Complex at Pomingalarna Reserve. The NSW Government provided funding worth $7M for the project, from the Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund.... The project is scheduled for completion in early 2022.

Eligible businesses will be able to apply for $5,000 and $10,000 grants through Service NSW from Tuesday, 8 September. 20.01.2022 GOCUP / SNOWY MOUNTAINS HIGHWAY INTERSECTION UPGRADE Today, I joined Acting Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Roads Paul Toole, along with Dr Joe McGirr to announce the NSW Government will be installing a roundabout at this major intersection in Tumut. This will improve safety at the intersection and still allow large B-Double trucks to easily pass through.

20.01.2022 NSW Budget 2020 - Wagga Wagga The NSW Government has just handed down the 2020 Budget, and the Wagga Wagga electorate has been a winner, with funding for both Tumut District Hospital and Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, the new school at Estella and the Special Activation Precinct at Bomen.

19.01.2022 AURORA COLLEGE VISIT This afternoon, the Education Minister Sarah Mitchell MLC and I, joined my NSW Nationals colleagues to see the operation of Aurora College, a virtual school / classroom, to provide students who are excelling across rural and remote NSW with excellence in teaching. You can learn more about Aurora College, by following this link... http://www.aurora.nsw.edu.au

15.01.2022 LIBS TARGET REGIONAL MOTORISTS! Today, the NSW Government, through the NSW Liberal Roads Minister Andrew Constance announced the removal of warning signs for mobile speed cameras in NSW. This is a major change in policy, yet he didn’t consult with Government members and announces it on the last day of Parliament. It is a disgrace!... My statement on the issue is below.

14.01.2022 TUMUT HOSPITAL FIRST POUR! It was fantastic to be in Tumut this morning, along with Dr Joe McGirr MP and representatives from Murrumbidgee Local Health District, Snowy Valleys Council and Richard Crookes Constructions, to watch the pouring of the first slab for the brand new Tumut District Hospital. It’s yet another sign of the NSW Government’s commitment to rural and regional health.

12.01.2022 AERIAL FIRE-TRAIL SURVEYS! It was great to catch up with the crew from NSW Crown Lands, who are currently conducting aerial surveys of the fire-trail network across NSW. The use of a helicopter to conduct the survey reduces the time to conduct this work from 6 months, to 5 weeks.... This is yet another example of Minister Melinda Pavey the NSW Nationals in Government, working hard to prepare for the upcoming fire season.

12.01.2022 NATS STAND UP FOR YOU! If you’re a member of the NSW Nationals, you can be proud that your team in Macquarie St, led by John Barilaro stood tall, fought for you and delivered a win on SEPP44 this week. You send us to the Parliament of NSW, to make our communities stronger, to give our next generation a future in the places we love and give you a voice against the city-biased parties, like The Greens NSW, NSW Labor and yes, the NSW Liberal Party. We make no apologies fo...r rolling up our sleeves and being prepared to come out swinging to deliver for those we represent. I couldn’t have been more honoured to stand next to my colleagues, Paul Toole MP, Sarah Mitchell MLC, Bronnie Taylor MLC, Melinda Pavey and Kevin Anderson MP, to make the case for defending landholders property rights and not jeopardising the jobs for the next generation. SEPP44 will now be debated in Cabinet.

11.01.2022 A MUST-HEAR PODCAST! This podcast from my NSW Nationals college Bronnie Taylor MLC and Sandra Sully is an amazing insight into a strong woman who has journeyed from being a nurse and farmer, to the NSW Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women. It’s well worth a listen! https://play.acast.com/s/short-blac/thehon.bronnietaylormlc

John Barilaro Adam Marshall MP NSW Nationals Dr Joe McGirr MP

09.01.2022 VISITING CUC GOULBURN! Today, members of the NSW Legislative Council PC3 Education Committee visited the Country Universities Centre in Goulburn, meeting with staff and students and learning about how the CUCs are changing rural and regional student’s lives. This community initiated program began in Cooma and has been driven by the indefatigable Duncan Taylor (pictured), who was the 2019 NSW Southen Inland Volunteer of the Year for his work as the founding Chairman and ...Volunteer CEO. The CUCs across NSW have helped hundreds of students... many of them ‘first in family’ to attend and compete a University degree which otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.

05.01.2022 NATS DELIVERING FOR WAGGA! It was great to be in Wagga today, with Deputy PM Michael McCormack and Mayor Greg Conkey, to represent Deputy Premier John Barilaro and open three fantastic projects for Wagga! The first was the Eunony Bridge upgrade, with the NSW Government contributing $4.9 million. The second, was the Wagga Wagga Levee Upgrade (with a $4.1 million contribution) and the third, was a partnership with The NRMA for Wagga’s first fast electric car charger.... It demonstrates the delivery of having the NSW Nationals in Government at a State and Federal level. It also highlights our two Governments working with the City of Wagga Wagga to deliver for the city.

04.01.2022 SHOOTERS AIM TO KILL REGIONAL FUND! In yet more proof that the Shooters’ Robert Borsak & Mark Banasiak dance to the tune of the Inner-City focused Labor & Greens... they are teaming up to try and kill the Stronger Country Communities Fund. This fund, from the NSW Nationals in Government, puts millions of dollars into rural and regional communities. Ask any regional NSW council or Mayor about how important this is. We have to fight to keep this fund delivering for our co...mmunities! 03.01.2022 As a proud member of the NSW Nationals, it’s been a honour to be elected as the Acting Chair for the NSW Legislative Council’s Portfolio Committee 3 hearings yesterday and today, while the Chair Mark Latham was not able to attend Parliament. I’m proud, because fantastic regional education institutions such as Country Universities Centre, Charles Sturt University and the University of New England were able to present their views on tertiary education in New South Wales. Tomorrow, I’ll be Chairing the fourth Law and Justice hearing into the NSW Workers’ Compensation Scheme.

02.01.2022 LAUNCHING ‘ASH DUST AIR’ AT ARTSTATE! It was a privilege to represent Minister Bronnie Taylor at Artstate NSW, to launch ‘Ash Dust Air’. I was joined by Gabrielle Tozer and Scott Howie from Eastern Riverina Arts, who were both instrumental in seeing this wonderful collection of writing from 15-25 year olds, sharing their stories and experiences from the bushfires at the start of 2020.

02.01.2022 THE SHOOTERS BACK THE NATS! The Shooters’ Member for Murray Helen Dalton has flip-flopped on her position of publishing individual water user’s private information online following outcry from her community that it would be a breach of privacy. Under the weight of evidence in the interim Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) report and public concern, Mrs Dalton back-flipped on her Bill which would not address concerns around water speculators or foreign o...wnership. Nationals’ MLC, Wes Fang, said for almost a year the Shooters have been pushing for details of individual mum and dad farmers who own water to be placed on a public register. We have been fighting back against the way the Shooters want to create a water register. The implications would result in a huge breach of privacy for small farmers who own water, similar to what the greens activists did in 2019 with Aussie Farms, Mr Fang said. Thanks to regional communities lobbying against this breach of privacy, Mrs Dalton last week agreed to exclude small farmers from her water bill. It’s good to see the Shooters have seen some sense, but we need to get the balance right. Indeed, I believe under her changes, Mrs Dalton’s own water holdings will not necessarily be captured by this register. The NSW Government will work with the ACCC, other Basin states and the Commonwealth in implementing any potential future changes to the existing public water registers. This is because we are committed to increasing transparency whilst protecting the rights and privacy of mum and dad farmers. The decisions we make today are decisions that we are stuck with into the future, we must take the community with us in the process to get it right.
