09.01.2022 Bunbury showing off again! Exterior paintwork is now complete on our Lotteries House building in Victoria Street. Brick and Mortar Restorations have done a be...autiful job! We had to even get up close and touch the brickwork to see how this was done. :) This was built as a 2 storey bank building from 1896. It has also been known as the Bank of NSW and the WA Bank. Inside is a lovely old solid wooden staircase and individual office rooms. When first built, the bank was on street level and the Bank Manager lived on the floor above. State Heritage information tells us that it was designed by Major General Sir John Talbot Hobbs who was a Soldier and Architect. It also says there is a story that James Mitchell himself worked at the WA Bank. James went on to become our Premier. Maybe someone out there can provide us with family facts to verify if he was at the Bunbury branch here or just Geraldton and Northam branches, as documented. The Mitchell family lived at what was known as the "Willows" Homestead, which was a beautiful old house on the land where our Bunbury Post Office now sits. Many will know our Lotteries House building from the Community and Volunteer Groups that have had offices within, and you may also remember it when it was the CES for job seekers. See more

06.01.2022 What a fabulous place to stay or drop in for a roadie or a meal. Rodney is a great host. We are going back to stay the night soon. They have renovated so well the hotel is quite a sight to behold, the dining room is magnificent.

01.01.2022 We would definitely go back there. Great place to stay wether you are camping , caravanning or swagging. Excellent facilities the ablutions are like en-suites, with a bath inthem as well. There’s also a flight place for gyrocopters etc and a 4wd Drive track for those that want to test their skills.
