23.01.2022 Dear Members Thank to those that have registered for the Super 20's League. We have received insufficient registrations to run the league at this time and anti...cipate that we will run it February /March leading into next years season. We are however ,pleased to confirm that the coaches will run a high intensity clinic that will include Skills, Small Area Games (3 on 3 ) and special team training ( PP and PK) and Battle Drills ( full Checking ) This will commence on Tuesday 20th of October 2020 at Perth Ice Arena 6.00pm - 7.00pm Cost $150 per player. For those that have registered already can you please confirm on email to me [email protected] if you are still interested. If there are any players that had not registered and wish to participate , if you are born between 1997 - 2005 and are playing full checking hockey within IHWA leagues and wish to join please email Gill McLean on [email protected] . As there is full body checking included this is only open to male players and goalies in this age group. Providing we get sufficient numbers we will establish on Esports for you to make payment. 15.01.2022 Hi All Due to games not running to schedule at PIA two weeks in a row we have no alternative but to adjust the game format for: Div 1, 2 & 3 and 17& U All games are to be run time 3 x 20 minutes... 3 minutes warm up at game start - if teams are not on the ice the clock starts regardless 1 minute period breaks At the start of the 3rd period if game is not running to schedule then 3rd period needs to be cut to finish on time. If times over run in week three we will lose one game slot and will need to do a schedule rewrite. This can not happen all effort needs to be on running games on schedule. See more

13.01.2022 As we near the end of the season, please find information below on how the IHWA Awards are decided: * Best Forward and Best Defender (each Division 14U through ...to Premier League) - voted by Coaches of the Teams in the Divisions * Highest Point Scorer (each Division 14U through to Premier League)- Aggregate points from ESportsdesk * MVP (each Division 14U through to Premier League) - points awarded at the end of each game by Referees * Best Goalie (each Division 14U through to Premier League) - points awarded at the end of each game by Referees * Blue Monday Shield (Most Promising Goalie across all Divisions) - voted by IHWA Executive * Junior Official of the year award - voted by IHWA Executive * Senior Official of the year award - voted by IHWA Executive Awards for each Division will be presented at the Grand Final game of that Division Please Note: If you have been nominated for any of the awards you will be contacted by your Club to attend the Grand Final followed by the presentation of awards.

12.01.2022 AJIHL WA Super 20’s League We are pleased to announce we are scheduling the super 20’s league once again for commencement in January 2021 and have opened reg...istrations on Esports Desk. The league will consist of four teams of 10 players plus Goalie. Coaches will be drafting the players to ensure that the teams are even. Duration of League = 8 weeks - Played Friday Nights Location- Perth Ice Arena Game Times - 7.30pm & 9.00pm Commencing- 22nd January 2021 12 March 2021. Training One Night Per Week Monday & Tuesday Nights Time 6.00pm 7.00pm Monday Night commences 18th January 2021 8 weeks Tuesday Night commences 2nd February 2021 6 weeks Teams will train together once a week on either Monday or Tuesday nights. Coaches will confirm your training nights following the draft. This is a full checking league men’s league only with eligible players born 1997 2005 Inclusive. With this broad age group, safety in mind the coaches draft will ensure that the younger players are line matched as much as possible. The coaches for the four teams are: Ben Breault Dave Ruck Marc Vaillancourt Bryan Maybee Cost will be $290 includes games and training. To allow us to finalize of the ice bookings, can you please register your interest by no later than 4th January 2021. 09.01.2022 Community Statement Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) acknowledges the miscommunication of a recent call for a voluntary position within its team and is greatly sadden...ed by the public response this has received. IHA is a not-for-profit community-based organisation with a mission to lead, develop and promote the sport of ice hockey in Australia. We are a volunteer run organisation, with the exception of one paid administrator. At IHA, we welcome feedback in all forms from members of the community, however we will not stand for disrespectful comments made directly to our volunteers. In Australia, ice hockey is a modest sport that thrives on the enormous efforts of its volunteers through their love of the sport. We value the efforts, generosity, skills, and expertise our volunteers provide that allows us to grow the sport, from its grass roots to national level. We will continue to build our sport and thank the wider community for its ongoing support.

06.01.2022 Message from IHWA President Paul McCann in regards to Season 2021: Welcome back to Members and supporters - the Ice Hockey WA 2021 Winter season is fast approac...hing. Much will be similar to last year’s successful program, however the Planning Workshop has made some changes to accommodate growth in the Sport. Schedule The planned season is mid-March through to late September this year. Considering the proposed number of teams, ice-times, the ongoing COVID situation and other factors, the commencement date is expected Friday 19th March for 18 rounds and finals. We encourage you to start contacting your Clubs for Expression of Interest information on sign-up and registration as Clubs are underway with team planning including training. At the moment, the Ice Hockey Australia e-SportDesk is unavailable for 2021 IHWA registrations, however, we expect all players to be able to officially register in the usual way in the near future. The 2021 fee structure will be announced shortly. Divisions and Fixtures With the big increase in ice hockey participation last year, and indications for more teams this year, the 2021 season will look slightly different. We are pleased to announce Seniors will increase to 5 Divisions this year, due to the growth in the number of non-checking teams, including the welcome return of a women’s team. Premier League (checking hockey) will remain on Friday nights, with now 4 non-checking divisions scheduled regularly on Friday Sunday. The former Division 2 has out-grown the schedule to become two divisions in 2021, resulting in the new Divisions 1 4 (Non-checking). In the Juniors Divisions, the age groups remain as 17&Under (17U), 14&Under (14U) and 11&Under (11U), with additional teams expected in the divisions. As always these days, we do abide by current Health and Government regulations and directives, however, we do anticipate the full season of 18 rounds plus finals. Every endeavour will be made to ensure all teams get equal games, as was the case in 2020. Should you have any questions, please contact your Club for further information. 05.01.2022 2021 Ref Course Register Now We are planning to hold the 2021 Ref Course on Sat 6th and Sun 7th March at CIA. The Course will consist of two full days 9am to ...4pm with 2 hours of ice time on Sunday afternoon. Ice will consist of Skating, positioning and games to practice on. This is a good opportunity for all refs to brush up on their skills. We need to know numbers so we can ensure we have rooms large enough. Please only register if you are actually going to come to the course. We don’t want to make plans for more people than actually attend. Original Post Following the recent announcement regarding the cancellation of the AJIHL season for 2020/2021 , in conjunction with our senior coaches , we are pleased to bring to you a su...per 20’s league instead with an expanded age group. The league will consist of four teams of 15 players over an 8 week period to be played on Friday nights at Perth Ice Arena. Two games each night commencing 23rd of October 2020, 7:30pm and 9:00pm 18th of December 2020. We have a break the weekend of the 6th of November 2020. Two teams will train together once a week on either Monday or Tuesday nights at Perth Ice Arena ( depending on which team you are drafted to ) at 6.00pm 7.00pm . There will be no training on the 2nd & 3rd of November 2020. Coaches will be drafting the players to ensure that the teams are even. This is a full checking league men’s league only with eligible players born 1997 2005 Inclusive.
