22.01.2022 Our new date has now been set for our 2020 Ballet Examinations. All students who attend 2 ballet classes per week will have the opportunity to sit their exam in December. We are thrilled to announce that Guy Wheatstone will be our external examiner and he will also provide the dancers with a feedback session and workshop after their exam. An email has been sent today to all students that are eligible to participate and myself and Miss Zoe are so excited to watch how the dance...rs progress in the coming months leading up to Exam day. #westenddance #balletexams

09.01.2022 As part of our Ballet Boot Camp next week, we will be hosting a Ballet Buddy Session where our little dancers will get the chance to work along side our older ballet girls. This experience will offer a connection between our dancers where the older girls can feed of the energy and excitement of our aspiring little Ballerinas while using their maturity and knowledge to offer themselves as a role model. Having a role model is important for growing and keeping us inspired even a...s we grow into adults and in any profession we choose. 09.01.2022 This weekend was meant to be our Choreography Competition... With Covid restrictions we unfortunately had to cancel our in person showing. The Competition was so much fun last year that we still wanted to give our students the opportunity to show us their creativity so we have decided to go ahead with the competition with a little virtual twist! Instead of performing for an audience this year, each entrant will have the opportunity to use the dance studio to create and film t...heir entry. 07.01.2022 Our very last Dance Challenge! Choreograph our Finale Dance for the Concert. Last year, one of the highlights performing on stage for many of our dancers was being part of the finale dance. The energy and atmosphere on stage was something you never forget.... For this week's challenge, we would like to give you a chance to choreograph our finale chorus. The theme for our finale is the year 2020, so pick a fun uplifting song from this year and make up some simple dance steps to the chorus. Remember that if we were to perform it on stage, everyone would be doing it at the same time, even our little 5 year old dancers. Check out the clip to our Dance from last year for some inspiration. Take a video of your choreography and send it to Miss Lianne by Sunday for your chance to win our portable Ballet Barre. We will be drawing the winner next week, so this is your last chance to be in the running. Happy Choreographing!

Louise was a dancer herself and now a Physiotherapist working alongside QLD Ballet as well as recently starting her own business specialising in working with dancers en pointe. At our Ballet Boot Camp our Senior group will get to hear advice and tips on conditioning their bodies ready for pointe.
