25.01.2022 Message from South Augusta President, Michael Kerin regarding South Augusta Football Club Player Will Bolitho. Westies encourage all our Members, players and Supporters to support this event. Dear all... As most of you would be aware SAFC player Will Bolitho was badly injured in the recent Preliminary Final. Thankfully Will avoided what we all feared for the first 48 hours. He returned home to Port Augusta after a stay at the RAH. He has a long road ahead and is diligently engaging in exercise and physio and moving about as best as he can. Doctors are happy with his progress but the road to full recovery will be long. SAFC has set up a fund raising committee chaired by our VP Nick Heron (Chairman), Jenny Grantham, Marsha Bolitho (family rep), Phil and Michelle Brown. Their mission statement is to provide support that is vital to the life and financial well-being of Will and his family. Our fundraising campaigns will be varied and will centre around raising funds to meet their special and specific ongoing needs. We are hosting a major fundraiser at Central Oval on Saturday 5 December. Some info about the day: - gates open at 2:30 - gold coin entry - food and drink stalls raffles available on the day - bouncy castle - visit by Father Xmas - longest kick/accurate kick competitions and other footy skills games - footy match at 5:00 pm v Emergency Services (SAPOL/Ambos/SES etc.) We are hopeful of having some footy personalities present throughout the afternoon. I would like to invite you and your community members to participate in any way you can. Could you please promote this event so we can reach the widest possible audience. I would encourage attendees/players to wear their club colours as a visible demonstration of the true football spirit. We are close to finalising a major raffle with some fantastic prizes donated from all over South Australia. We are very grateful to these businesses and individuals for helping this cause. If you are willing to take a book (or two) of tickets to sell within your community, please let me know. Finally, I would like to thank all the well wishes and offers of support that we received in the wake of Will`s injury. The response from the SGL Executive and fellow clubs, the SANFL and some of their clubs and other country football clubs shows the community spirit that underlies our great game. 20.01.2022 CENTURIONS CLUB To ensure the Health of our Centurion Club Supporters and to ensure the event can be enjoyable for everyone we have decided to Postpone the Centurions Draw, scheduled to be held this Sunday. We will confirm a new date as soon as it is possible to do so. We thank you for your support and understanding at this time. The club will still be open on Sunday so we encourage you to support the club and come for a drink and stay for the members draw which is now $...1000... PAST PLAYERS/OFFICIALS FUNCTION This Function will still proceed on Saturday, commencing at 5pm. BBQ tea will be cooked by current players. COVID Regulations will be enforced by our Covid Marshals and include No standing drinking inside or outside. While not a clean sweep, the 15s have continued their great form, to be second on the ladder. 18s sit 3rd The B grade sit equal second on points with Souths and seperated by only 9 percentage points to be 3rd.... 12.01.2022 Dear Members, Players & Supporters, Firstly, thankyou for your support over the last few days. It has been difficult for us all to have a 7day a week club and facilities and not being able to trade, however it is important that the Heatrh of everyone is the priority and we say well done on following the Restrictions that have been in place. Thankfully many of the Restrictions will lift tonight. This therefore means that we will be open the Club (including Gaming room) fr...om 2pm Sunday. The gym will open from 9am Sunday. The members draw reaches $1000 tomorrow so be at the club at 4.30pm and you may take home the cash. Additionally with thanks to Benny @ Sportspower we will be giving away a $100 voucher to one lucky member who is present at 4.30. As previously advised the Centurions Draw, scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed. A new date is yet to be finalised. We appreciate that not everyone will have FB so may not have seen our posts, and we are unable to obtain our contacts list from the club, so if you know someone in the draw can you please let them know. The Past players and officials function, scheduled for today, has been postponed to 2021. Bingo will be held on Monday. Thursday Night Pasta, Pizza and Parmi nighr, $5 Pints and Poker will resume. Counter Meals on Friday Night will be held. The AGM scheduled for this Wedneaday night will be postponed, as the necessary End of year reporting has not been able to be completed due to the Lockdown. A new date will be advised. Although some restrictions lift tonight, please remember when visiting the club that several restrictions still apply. This include.
