25.01.2022 Technical Director note: "There are those who fight one day and that makes them good. Others fight a year and become better. Some fight for many years and become very good. But there are those who fight all their lives: those people are essential." Bertold Brecht. This evening we would like to pay homage to Andy Muñoz. A man of vocation and love. A man that for many years gave his time and commitment to his "angels" and lead them to more grand finals than most senior/profess...ional coaches will in their entire life. A true Wanderers man. Andy was the catalyst for me wanting to be part of Weston Molonglo FC. He had his angels based there in CL in 2015 when I first heard of them. His faithful five-star flag officer and angel captain Vanessa Burdett. A mum, a leader, a voice in and out the field. A woman whose body all wrapped up in bands showed before games how vulnerable a woman's body can be and yet showed so much gallantry and strength on the field. A true role model. Speaking to Andy for me was like going back in time and finding a fatherly calming, soothing voice that would encourage me to do well and would reward me when I did good. In 2020 Andy was going throu hard personal times but never failed his team and his club. A man loved by his players and admired by all youth girls teams at Wanderers. Everyone wanted to play for Andy and Ressies. A man of football vocation (an attribute ignored too often in modern football requirements), a good father, a good example for all of us that sometimes forget football is a game where a giver, a man/woman of passion, a man/woman that gets the best of players is the world's best coach. This evening wanderers' ressies trial for players with a new coach (Daniel Van Der Drift) no team will be able to suceed easily Andy's Angels achievements, or beat their finals record and it will be hard for me to see another coach being loved so much by everyone at a club. Thank you Andy for everything you did for Wanderers, thank you for showing me and for showing us humillity is the key to success and wisdom in the sport. Rey Castro

23.01.2022 WNPL Program update. Please be advised our sessions tomorrow Sunday afternoon for 13 dev, 14s Dev, WNPL 13s,15s and 17s will be at Melrose 6:30 to 7:45 pm. This is aiming at minimizing weather impact on player welfare.

17.01.2022 West Canberra Wanderers is excited to announce Emma Stanbury will be joining our club in 2021. Emma will bring a wealth of experience to our 1st grade squad as she begins her transition from playing and into a coaching role. At Sunday’s announcement Emma shared with us that she is excited to join the Wanderers. The club has been extremely welcoming and encouraging. There is so much talent here and I can't wait to lace the boots up alongside the girls this upcoming season. ...I'm hoping to provide my knowledge and experience both on and off the field to the womens program. Having played over 20+ years and reaching top elite levels, im ready to give back to the game i love so much and help inspire the future stars of the game in our woden family. I also had positive chats with Mark and Steve who are both aware of my aspirations in wanting to transition into coaching. They made me feel very supported and will provide me with as much opportunity within compliance of requirements at the NPL level to develop my coaching until I can complete my C-licence course. Again, I look forward to the 2021 season with the girls and working alongside Mark to becoming top contenders in the NPL Capital football competition. Welcome to the Wanderers family Emma!
