24.01.2022 Rick Ardon, Westcare’s Ambassador thrilled everyone with a surprise visit this afternoon. Being a quiet day many of his ardent fans were not on site and will be disappointed to miss him. He left them his message to start practising their dancing skills ready for the Christmas party.
22.01.2022 35 years dedicated service to Westcare Congratulations to Senior Accounts Administrator Dianne Henningsen who chalked up 35 years working for Westcare. The highly respected and popular Di has seen many changes in her time with the organisation and has built many valued friendships along the way. Thank you Di you are a star!
22.01.2022 Westcare staff visited the WA Police Operations Centre in Midland. Police Officers showed the latest technologies they are using to improve safety on WA roads. We saw new vehicles being tested, the latest alcohol breathalyzers, and new fixed and mobile speed cameras. Thank you to all the WA Police Officers and staff who were so hospitable during our visit.
21.01.2022 Congratulations to Nick Benfield who was today awarded the Richard (Dick) Howell Award for the Employee of the Year at Westcare Bassendean. Nick has come through our school work experience program. He has been employed for 2 years now and has excelled in learning any task he has tried. He is now an accomplished box coverer and guillotine operator. Nick has a bright future at Westcare.
20.01.2022 Westcare CEO, Rob Cameron Wilton celebrated the International Day for Volunteers by serving at the Volunteers lunch. The theme for this year's lunch was the international heritage of volunteers and was celebrated with live music form Latin America, a variety of international cuisine and drinks from around the World.
20.01.2022 Congratulations to Bill McAlaney who was today awarded the Florence Hummerston Award for Staff Member of the Year for Services to the Association. Bill is a good and decent gentleman who always thinks of others first. He has an excellent rapport with clients and visitors to the organisation, always positively promoting Westcare at every opportunity whislt chasing opportunities for us. He always cheerfully puts in extra long hours. He enjoys an excellent rapport with all the staff and Supported Employees. He is always cheerful and polite. He buoys up others and encourages people to do their best. He is a real asset to the organisation - someone who has excelled in the promotion of the organisation and who proudly and loyally represents Westcare.
19.01.2022 Remembrance Day 2020 was a very poignant day at Westcare as some staff attended the War Graves Ceremony hosted by the City of Nedlands and we all stopped for 2 minutes to recognise and remember the sacrifice of those who did not return from Australia's involvement of two World Wars. and countless other conflicts.
16.01.2022 Our CEO Rob represented Westcare at the annual charity lunch which this year was held to raise funds for the two WA Child Advocacy Centres: The Stan and Jean Perron CAC, and the George Jones CAC. It was an ideal event to fly the flag and spread the word regarding what a great job we do at Westcare.

14.01.2022 St Johns have provided Westcare Nedlands with an externally located registered community first responder defibrillation system as part of the Lotterywest Heart Grant. Benefitting the neighbourhood, this machine is accessible at all hours in the case of emergency. First Aid and Defibrillator training was provided to Westcare first aiders Bill McAlaney, Jamie Stoyles and Tina Rigby. Thanks to Bill and Jamie Stoyles who installed the unit. With over 4,000 registered locations, the system has proven to saves lives of cardiac arrest victims in over 100 recorded cases!

07.01.2022 Trevor Tough of Outback Grave Markers is training Michael Mather from Westcare Bassendean on a new drill press which our Supported Employees will be using to make the plaques for placing on remote unmarked graves by Outback Grave Markers. Westcare is appreciative of the drill press donation by Greg Muir from United Tools Canning Vale.
06.01.2022 Congratulations to Fraser MacDonald who today was awarded the Alan Tough OAM Award for Employee of the Year in Westcare Industries Nedlands. Fraser quietly and most diligently gets on with his work regardless of the distractions and dramas around him. He is always courteous to all his colleagues. He has completed 25 years with Westcare. He is so quiet that people don't know he is there but he is always beavering away to get his work done. He never shows mood changes, is always on time - is a pleasure to have around. He responds well to the friendliness of staff but doesn't push his way into the foreground.
05.01.2022 Bob Castledine and Jamie Stoyles have been working really hard to keep the Village grounds and gardens looking good. The colourful petunias and pansies are brightening up the lives of the residents on the dullest of days. The retic is being serviced ready for the warm spring weather Well done Bob & Jamie.
03.01.2022 32 years at Westcare - congratulations to Michael McVeigh. What an amazing feat of tenacity and a perseverance of fun, Michael! Michael bought out his sister's bakery supply of yummy cream doughnuts for all the supported employees for morning tea. He followed this by providing a variety of pizzas for everyone at lunch.
