24.01.2022 When both Penrith Bunnings stores get together to support a project so generously, you know you’re onto something awesome! ‘KIDZ BLITZ PENRITH’ is an exciting new venture WestCare is bringing together to meaningfully impact the work of key local services reaching the most socially impacted families in our community as we transition through this period. Many thousands of dollars’ worth of new, high quality baby and young children’s clothing will be distributed alongside vital ...case management and social services to families with infants. Special thanks to Ash and the teams from Bunnings Penrith and North Penrith for this 'mother load' of storage containers, re-usable bags and vouchers! 21.01.2022 Partnering with a wide range of key services helps us meaningfully reach many vulnerable families at Christmas time. Every year we meet many who, apart from the hamper or toys or gift pack that we give them, wouldn’t really have any experience of Christmas. You can Make A Difference! And all donations are Tax-Deductible. So please consider supporting the WestCare Christmas Appeal!... 14.01.2022 Our '1000 Safe Sleeps' DV crisis accommodation for Mum's with Kids has been in constant demand in recent years, particularly throughout the Covid-19 season. This week, arranged by our friends at Good360 Australia, we picked up $30,000 of spectacular new furniture & items donated by Domayne Australia to be used by families staying in our units, fleeing severe domestic violence situations. These photos, all taken today, capture the quality and presence of the furnishings received. #good360 #FreshStartGo!
14.01.2022 WestCare’s Happy Pets DV Safety program has been a real winner over the past year and a half. One scary statistic says that 35% of women don’t leave dangerous Domestic Violence home situations where their safety, or sometimes their life, is in danger because they can’t take their Pets with them! This has been a major issue in Penrith, where no local Refuges can currently house Pets. In 2017 a Penrith City Council staff member asked our Director Andrew what could be done as ...a local solution. A few calls, meetings and processes later and the Happy Pets program was launched! Special mention to St Marys Band Club - The Bandy who funded the launch of this tremendous program. #LocalNeedsMetByLocalPeople #FreshStartGo! See more
13.01.2022 Year in, year out the Share the Dignity ‘Angels’ (as we call them) like Elisabeth this week, collect highly appreciated items from donation locations for women in crisis situations. We share their core belief, that everyone deserves to be afforded the dignity so many take for granted. #thankyou #sharethedignity
13.01.2022 The Covid season has brought change to the Emergency Relief Service including phone interviews! Penrith LGA residents can now call 4731 3275 and leave contact details for our team to arrange an interview and pickup time. Special thanks to @Penrith City Council for their support of our Post-COVID Emergency Relief project. And of course Sydney Direct Fresh Produce and The Coffee Club Nepean River for the abundant fruit and vegetables they provide on a weekly basis! And all ou...r other friends who help keep this world go round! #LocalNeedsMetByLocalPeople See more
11.01.2022 There’s PLENTY to celebrate about the Penrith Panthers right now including the Club’s support of WestCare’s ‘1000 Safe Sleeps’ Domestic Violence crisis accommodation! Their help has significantly carried our family units this year for many Mum’s with up to six children fleeing severe family violence during the challenging Covid season. All accommodation, food, toys to keep for each child, clothing vouchers and more is provided at no charge, while dedicated Case Managers hel...p navigate them into a brighter future. So thank you Panthers Penrith! #LocalNeedsMetByLocalPeople #1000SafeSleeps #FreshStartGo! See more

07.01.2022 Thanks to an extraordinary donation of high quality clothing from a local family and the support of Penrith City Council, WestCare’s new KIDZ BLITZ PENRITH project is providing thousands of dollars’ worth of new baby and infants clothing to many of our most vulnerable households. 02.01.2022 These two Champions have been out delivering some extra special CareKits to the Sexual Assault and IVPRS DV teams from Springfield Cottage in Lemongrove today. The depth of support provided by specialist trauma and care services across Penrith is truly amazing! It is a real delight for us to supply many of these local front-line, tightly funded teams with customised personal CareKits for their high-need clients. The Penrith City CareKits program (like every WestCare activity) is 100% funded by local people and businesses keen to help meet local needs. So to every person who helps us change people’s worlds Thank You
