24.01.2022 Hot Dry weather = Rock Hard Dry Feet Soaking your horses feet is important for Hoof Health and beneficial for a Happy Farrier. ... Easy Foot Soaking Solution #naturalhorseworld.com Easy Hoof Bath to Make in Minutes With the current drought a hoof bath for daily soaking will not only keep your horse’s hooves healthy and supple, but easier to trim too. Here is an inexpensive version that takes minutes to put together once you have the following materials on hand; 4 poles or ‘sleepers’ 2 long ones approx. 2m and 2 short ones of approx. 1.5m 2 pieces of old carpet 2.5m x 2m 1 piece of plastic pool liner or heavy duty tarp 2.5 x 2m If you set the hoof bath up in front of your water trough the horses will need to put at least their front hooves in when they drink. First put the poles in place as shown in the photo above, followed by a piece of carpet, then the pool liner topped with another piece of carpet. Allow the horses a day or so of walking on it dry to get used to stepping into this strange area you may even need to lead them through it first. Then wet it down so there is no pooled water so they get used to the wet feeling before adding more water to make a shallow pool. You may need to lead the horse’s through at each stage to ensure they can cope with stepping in to get their drink. Alternatively, if your horse drinks from a stream or dam and their hooves are still very dry, you can set up the hoof bath for a longer soak just before trimming. By feeding them in the hoof bath, they will be happy to stand once they get used to walking through. #Healthyhooves #Happyhorses #Happyfarrier

05.01.2022 Client Feedback-Thanks Louise I was a new client as of Sunday this week who needed a farrier to show up to his appointment as previous ones just didn’t after booking them up to two weeks in advance as I knew their unreliability only to wait for them to show up them text saying where are you! No sorry I’m too busy! So my horses suffered until they Decided to get their arse here!!!! Beau showed up when booked even in this kaos on the 22nd of March on time and worked so well ...with our two horses one who is normally a tad touchy! She was the best she has ever been with him!!!!! Understood her issue and she was almost falling asleep highly recommend!!!!! Thank you Beau Your a gem! See more

01.01.2022 I consider this time of year the most important time to worm your horse Coped from Worm Check Two examples showing the importance of worming for bot flies each autumn/winter... First photo is from a client who noticed bot larvae in her horses manure after worming. Second photo is bot larvae from my 3 year old filly that came out this evening after worming her yesterday. So naturally I had to collect them to store in some ethanol for demos at future worm talks. But it goes to show how prevalent bot flies still are, and that relying on picking eggs off is not enough. Also it takes an effort from all horse owners to control them - the bots the annoy my horses each year are likely to come from neighbouring properties. In both photos the larvae are still young and small - better to get them in late autumn then leaving them to mature throughout winter/spring. See more
