18.01.2022 Like the rest of Australia, we are devastated about the mass whale stranding at Macquarie Heads and Ocean Beach. We are receiving queries from travellers concerned that the whales are in the Strahan township itself and witnessing the stranding may cause trauma to their children. The whales are located several kilometres from the township, and are not able to be seen unless specifically travelling to Ocean Beach or Macquarie Heads.... The waterfront area of Strahan where cruise boats dock and West Strahan Beach area are not affected. We are looking forward to welcoming travellers to Strahan and anyone with queries is encouraged to visit us at the Centre, email [email protected] or call 64726800. Thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers working to help the whales.

09.01.2022 Ahhh...all this rain today has us thinking back to the 30+ degree weather from last week (it did happen!). We know there'll be more of that weather on the way over the next few months, but for now there's still flowing waterfalls to explore - or a quick dash into the local shops. We're nothing if not practical here on the West Coast - grab yourself an umbrella at the Centre or online. Remember, we can arrange for you to collect in Strahan and Queenstown, just select "local p...ick up" when purchasing online so you don't pay the postage cost.
