24.01.2022 The first batch of the 64 Super T’s that will form the deck of the new ventilation facility at St Peters have arrived. Each girder is 30m long and weighs up to 75 tonnes. The team has worked hard to prepare the cut and cover section at St Peters Interchange to be ready for this important milestone. The preparation included piling in the old Alexandria landfill site, building columns, headstocks and set up of one of the largest tower cranes in the country. ... 21.01.2022 The team building the WestConnex M4-M5 Link Tunnels (and a few familiar superheroes) removed a record 119,451 tonnes of spoil in a single week. Since the start of the project, the team have removed over 3,851,601 tonnes of spoil. Thats the same weight as 750,000 hippos.

20.01.2022 Ever wanted to learn more about cross passages and what goes on behind those green doors in the tunnels? When complete in 2023, the M4-M5 Link Tunnels will have over 80 cross passages, and over half of these will serve as Electrical Equipment Rooms (EER). Each EER is made of four precast concrete and steel reinforced segments, with each segment weighing around 10 tonnes.... 20.01.2022 Tom Misuras Kangaroo Seats are the newest addition to Tallawalla Street Reserve, Beverley Hills. These larger than life stainless steel sculptures are playful, interactive and functional. Forming part of the WestConnex Public Art Program Canal to Creek, they aim to help activate the existing parklands located along the WestConnex corridor.

16.01.2022 A new artist designed ‘St Peters Fences’ playground at Simpson Park in St Peters will open this weekend. The park, designed by artist Mike Hewson, takes its inspiration from the fences of houses in the surrounding the area. Each individual element of the 1,500 square metre playground is artist-built from salvaged materials including salvaged brick, heritage sandstone and Victorian terrace fencing. 11.01.2022 Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) will be the final surface in the M4-M5 Link Tunnels - as the name suggests it is reinforced with fixed steel bars. CRCP can be either hand poured or paved using a paving machine and the layer is usually 240mm thick. Approximately 75,000m3 of CRCP will be used within the M4-M5 Link Tunnels.... The Karingal underpass at Kingsgrove has recently exploded with colour thanks to artist Emily Crockford. 05.01.2022 Only 13 months after excavation began, the mechanical and electrical fit out on the M4-M5 Link Tunnels has commenced. As part of this, installation of the manifolds has started. These provide the vital water supply for the sprinklers in an emergency fire situation. In a fire, up to 20,000 litres of water will flow through these pipes every minute....
