21.01.2022 Although much needed the rain has also brought with it certain weeds that can be toxic to stock. Pig Weed and Caltrop (also known as bulls/cat head) can b...e deadly to stock if large quantities are consumed. If you're allowing access to these weeds make sure stock don't go on hungry. Continue to supplement feed to avoid stock being glutinous and consuming too much of these toxic weeds and in turn possibly causing severe illness or death!

21.01.2022 NSW DPI livestock research, Gordon Refshauge, says a hand-held device for accurately measuring the body score of ewes will be a great profit drive for producers.

08.01.2022 #RAMpingUpRepro delivery trainer, and all round ram expert Dr Tim Gole, of Western Rivers Veterinary Group Warren and Nyngan tells us his 3 key take home messag...es from the #RAMpingUpRepro workshops. (amongst a very heavy presence of flies!) RAMping Up Repro workshops are hands on workshops targeted towards ensuring your ram team is in peak condition for their annual tour of duty! Flock rebuilding is taking place throughout areas where there has been rain, and ram preparation is integral in getting the most lambs on board! Be sure to give your rams the best opportunity to pass on their genetics by preparing them well! We are currently scheduling workshops - where you can get up close, hands on, and see for yourself what all the best practice activities are for the boys - we'd love for you to join us at one! Check out this link for details of all of our (and other organisations) workshops: https://sheepconnectnsw.com.au/events/ See more

04.01.2022 A ewe now is worth her weight in gold. Treat her well - make sure she's prepared for joining & proactively manage her condition through pregnancy - and she will... look after you with 1, 2 or even 3 healthy lambs at marking. This will allow you to maximise turn-off rates AND rebuild your flock to take advantage of the continuing good market conditions. Sign up now to join me for my free online training. See more
