03.01.2022 It's been two weeks since we have all returned back to Perth and I do know that the Football West staff hit the ground running (i'm sure it was the same for others, hence this late post. In summary of the FFA Futsal Nationals I feel we acheived more than the eye can see.This is the most teams that Football West have taken to the FFA Futsal Nationals, nine teams in total which included 90 players plus 16 staff. Despite some of the results I feel we was more competitive this ye...ar and to be honest this has been the same it each, slowly improving and competiting with other States which is a credit to the coaches and the players. There were many highlights but the one that really stood out (and I'm sure you would agree) would be the U19 making the final. What a proud moment it was. The support from all the players and parent at the semi finals was unreal. I have not seen anything like that before at the Nationals and I am sure the support motivated the team and drove them on, especially Alex Basto .. Lets hope that we can build on the successes that we have acheived this year on and off the court. Football West has already started to add more value to futsal in WA by starting a pilot Elite Futsal Development Program (EFDP). More information will be posted once in full swing and hopefully we can build on this as we have done with the Gold Fields State Futsal Teams. We only had two State futsal teams a few years back now we have 9 and that does not include the womens team that we took to the Gold Coast last year.
