11.01.2022 The final 2020 Hills Folk Club will be held on Friday 4th December. Our special guest performer will be Bernard Carney who will shake us all out of any Covid Blues and replace it with John Lennon’s music and a touch of Christmas Carols. There will be room for a few quick spots but please remember the Christmas rule that all songs must have happy endings!! We will endeavour to follow the Covid rules as well and provide hand sanitiser at the door and a list of people atten...ding. 09.01.2022 A Message from The Merriwa music club. Hello Folks Music is on for the 26th. This is just a little note to give you a few days warning as I know that because of Australia Day some events have been cancelled or rescheduled.... But not us. We are going ahead. Why? Well, one reason is it’s our day that the City of Wanneroo has given us the hall booking. And another is that a number of people have told me they really do want to get together on the day. Recent...ly relocated to Sydney from the south coast of WA Craig performs as a soloist and as part of folk group the Peppercorns. Craig is part of the FolkFedNSW's lineup for the #endofyearfolkbash 2pm Dec 13 at the Gaelic Club. Craig will present his solo drawing on a rich musical canvas which ranges from whimsical ragtime country blues to evocative open-tuned textures, weaving place, character and history to create memorable moments for his audience. 03.01.2022 What a musical, inspiring Sunday Folk Club we had! You know that you are onto something good when 35 people come out in cold and windy weather to listen to musi...c in the park. Green Herring opened the session performing some originals. An open mic segment followed with individual or duo performances to an attentive audience. A record number of 12 musicians finished up the afternoon with bluegrass numbers and folk classics. Thank you to all attendees who came from as far as Kalgoorlie, Harvey, Eaton and Rockingham, and also from Bridgetown, Boyup Brook and Greenbushes. See more
