07.01.2022 JETS ON THE BIG STAGE - MATTHEW DERVAN Congratulations to former Western Jets Operations Co-ordinator MATTHEW DERVAN who Saturday will officiate his first AFL Grand Final as a Goal Umpire. This a great achievement and special day for Matt who during his time at the Western Jets had a huge impact with his support of the programs.

05.01.2022 POSITION VACANT: Head of Strength & Conditioning The Western Jets currently has a position vacant for the Head of Strength & Conditioning. The Head of Strength and Conditioning will oversee all aspects of physical preparation for the Western Jets NAB League Boys, NAB League Girls and other relevant age groups within the club. Your fundamental role will be to provide an elite training environment for talented players and high performance staff to reach their full potential. Da...y in the life what you will be responsible for Strength & Conditioning Design and implement a strength and conditioning program that exposes athletes to an age-appropriate, progressive, and challenging strength training stimulus to promote long-term athlete development. Design and implement appropriate conditioning programs for pre-season and in-season competition phases Sports Science Implement use of internal (Smartabase) and external (GPS) load monitoring protocols to assist in optimal preparation of athletes, providing coaches and medical staff with appropriate information Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate individualised return to perform programs for injured athletes Must haves what’s needed to help you be successful A degree in Exercise Science or equivalent A willingness to work flexible hours (2 training nights + Game Day) ASCA Level 1 (Level 2 preferred) Current Working with Children Check This is a contracted position Nov 2020 - Sept 2021.
