23.01.2022 Athletics Tuesday 17th - updated times for events attached - again allow extra time with Covid check in procedure. 10 Boys & Girls year old Relay runners arrive by 12 noon - as will start putting into running order for Heats at 12.25pm - then a bit later for 11,12 & 13. If you make the Finals after your Heat - will need to stay as Final start at 2.50 ish. Thanks

21.01.2022 Western Sapsasa Football trials will now be on Thursday afternoons - starting this week the 13th of August with a reduced squad. Schools Sapsasa person and Parents, that I have email for, will receive an email Monday lunchtime the 10th with those, required to be at the trials this coming Thursday. 12.01.2022 Western Softball Trail information : As in previous post, Western are looking at running a standalone Western boys and girls Softball teams for the Carnival in late term 1 - Trials will be same time and place as Port trials - nominate form below, - get the word out, to see if we can generate more players. ... Over the last few years we have made up a team with the Port District - but seeing if we can each field our own teams - so need players to nominate - see below nomination form - direct to John Merrett email plus Western players please also email Trevor Hall, so I can see how we are going with numbers - Get the word out.

12.01.2022 Western Athletics is Tuesday 17th November - school should have given out Letters for athletes on the day and Consents etc. Number of spectators has just increased to 2 per Athlete but you MUST contact me with your Name and a Contact Number - so I can add you to our Official List - as you will be checked off prior to entry - see registration area 2 is the WESTERN check in area - then we are in Tent area 19 - Next to the Canteen look for western Flag- see map attached. Any issues, please let me know ASAP or contact your school Sapsasa person. Thanks

12.01.2022 Welcome back everyone to hopefully a full 2021 Sapsasa year - hope you are all well. A few changes this year with possible some single year level group carnivals, in AFL Football, Netball and Soccer (boys & girl seperate), if Western get enough players. That is Sapsasa is looking at running straight year 6 and straight year 7 Carnivals in the sport above - or if Western can not field enough, we would play other districts, as a year 6/7 composite team - as has happened in pre...vious years. So nominations will be out in Term 1 to gauge potential numbers for these teams. Plus looking at running standalone Western boys and girls Softball teams - Carnival is late term 1 - see another post here with nomination details - will be same time and place as Port trials, but seeing, if we can provide our own separate teams - again pass the word on to nominate. Major district events in Term 1 - District swimming at Immanuel Wednesday 3rd of March - plus Softball Trials. See more

08.01.2022 Western Sapsasa Softball. Western has joined with Port Sapsasa again, to enter a Girls and a Boys team in the Softball Carnival - week 4 during Term 4 - the 2nd November to the 5th. 08.01.2022 Congratulations to the Western Netball and AFL Football teams that played in the Carnival last week. - The weather was fantastic and all the kids played their hearts out and above all, had a great time, meeting so many new friends and building on these friendships. Again the Carnival is more about, the way the group goes through the trial stages and then bond, so well in the Carnival A very big Thank You to Belinda Kilroe for Netball and Darren Francis Football, for their b...ig commitment at the trials and the way they work with the kids, to develop the team atmosphere and friendship, that will last a long time. They both are great at developing the team first attitude and getting the best out of everyone - Lots of supportive comments from people, is the way Western Sapsasa teams work and support each other and play, as a team. Fantastic results for the girls went through undefeated finishing first in the Metro Div 2 competition medals were presented, so hope schools will mention at assemblies and school newsletter. The team all played well and lifted when needed against some strong opposition but again the support they had for each other was fantastic thank you to Julie for her support. The boys Footy had a tough week, but showed that they could match the big boys in Div 1 but not for the full 4 quarters but as in the facebook photos, were still smiling at the end and had a great Carnival. Just need to develop as Darren said, in what they can do and not worry about the opposition - Great team play. - A big Thank you to all the Parents & friends that supported during the week awesome to get this support - really appreciated. Thanks to everyone for your support of the coaches and myself in this challenging Covid year. More Netball & Footy photos up soon.
