24.01.2022 AGM Update After many years of service Carly, Kerrie, Kristi and Marama have all stood down from their roles on the committee. We would like to thank them for their dedication and commitment to the club. Their contributions have been invaluable. Thank you ladies Following last night’s AGM the following positions have been filled:- ... Secretary - Liz Akins Treasurer - Kylie Ryan-Ellul Registrar - Ruth Wegner This means we are currently without a president and merchandise officer. If these roles are not filled we cannot operate as a club. Please consider taking on one of these rewarding roles and being part of a new and enthusiastic committee to lead our club into the future. All retiring committee members will be available to help out with the transition. 23.01.2022 Hi everyone. Well I must say, I’m so happy that footy was able to return to Mackay for our children. Wests JRL are representing well with all 20 of our teams participating. It also coming to that time of year for the AGM(date to be decided) and election of executive committee members. This year, myself, Kerrie, Kristi, Kylie and Marama will be stepping down from our roles. It is time for a new group of people to step up with some exciting ideas for our club. ... With 340 players registered, the club is in an excellent position thanks to previous committee’s dedication to the club. Positions open will be President Secretary Treasurer Junior Registrar Ruth is staying on in Senior Registrar. Merchandise Officer Please consider a role, without a Commitee we cannot continue as a club. It is the most rewarding role you will ever have. Please feel free to chat with any of us about this. We will make an announcement by 6pm this evening regarding tomorrows games. ... 12.01.2022 Hi everyone SPECIAL NEWS - Wests Junior Football welcomes Clinton Venz's nomination for the role of President! Making this official will be one of the agenda items at our next meeting - MONDAY 30TH NOVEMBER, 2020 @ 6pm at Wests Leagues Club. Yep, it's only been a couple of weeks but now we know we will have a legitimate committee there are timely decisions that have to be made before we all lapse into holiday mode (so yep, this is December's general meeting brought forward).... We also won't mind taking the extra time at the meeting if there is anyone who would like to put their hand up to take on the role of Vice President or Merchandiser as these roles are still vacant. I will send out an agenda on Sunday night, so if you have any items you would like to table please shoot them through before then. We will be tabling the further applications for coaching and managing positions that are coming in to me (ever so slowly) - so if you have not done that yet - please get them to me asap! Also - as this season really comes to an end, can you please let me know if you are NOT going to take on coach/manager role as I will be editing this contact list shortly and removing those who haven't made contact. 08.01.2022 Tiger Tales... 2021 registrations have opened. Current players, please read the email that was sent out by our registrar before you renew! Any players new to Wests for the 2021 season register / login https://www.playrugbyleague.com/ . When searching for our club type in western districts junior rugby league football club, OR try just searching for Walkerston. ... Clinton Venz was voted in as President at our latest meeting - Adrian Aslette also joined our committee in the role of Vice President! FAO COORDINATOR ROLE - We need a volunteer to take on this role in 2021. We are chasing a point of contact between RLMD/Committee/FAO/trainers to ensure our teams have access to the appropriate advice and support for safe play. Please message me if you think you might be able to help out. MERCHANDISER - This role has also not been officially filled. I've had some interest in job sharing, and there are volunteers willing to spend time at the grounds selling stock... If you all could send me a message so we can all communicate together and see if we can pull something together with this role?! It's still up for grabs if someone wants to take the whole role on - if you can't make it to the grounds to sell merchandise due to other commitments at those times - I've got volunteers who can help.
