21.01.2022 The much-anticipated Western NSW Junior Cricket Carnivals' Under-13 tournament kicks off ON MONDAY and if this summer so far is anything to go by Orange Distric...t Junior Cricket Association is a real title shout. With most of the unbeaten under-12 side fronting and some more-experienced heads too, they're entering the tournament pretty confident.

21.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Nothing like a cricket carnival to bring some rain! The wickets look pretty good but the square is quite sticky. We need to wait for that to dry before play commences. Go to the ground for normal start time and umpires will be in control of when play starts.

20.01.2022 congrats on a great day of cricket everyone. Big shout out to SF#1 Inner West Harbour v Parramatta 1 at Country Club where over 450 runs were scored and Tom Birmingham from Inner West Harbour scored 122 of 119 opening the batting and Abhinav Kamsali batting 3 for Parramatta 1 scored 128. Great stuff boys. The final tomorrow is at Wade Park where Inner West Harbour play Dubbo. Great to have a City v Country final and we're looking forward to our City v Country T20 match at Wade Park tonight. Come along and have a look at the next generation of cricketers!

19.01.2022 We'll be moving to synthetic alternates today with a planned 10am start time. The T20 tonight is being moved to Wednesday night, so matches on Wednesday will now start at 9am.

19.01.2022 Well done to all players today, lots of great matches and performances. Congrats to Cooper Giddings from Dubbo with a great knock of 80, Damon Brar 76* from North West Sydney Hurricanes, Tom Cullen 74, Venkata Sandugula 64 both from North Shore and well done to local boy, Oli Jarick scoring 50 for Orange. Great bowling by Cooper Stephen who took 4-1 off 3 overs for Mitchell. Well done also to Kasey Barton of South Coast with 3 catches and 2 run outs. The draw for tomorrow is now live. Don't forget tomorrow is a 9am start. Draw for tomorrow here: http://westernjuniorcarnivals.nsw.cricket.com.au//match.as

A big thank you to all 16 teams for supporting our carnival. Thank you to the umpires - our unsung heroes. Thank you to all those who came to the T20 night - we raised almost $800 to support Shoalhaven Junior Cricket following the fires, a big thanks to Orange City Council, Kinross Wolaroi School, Cabonne Council, InterSport and Planning Potential. 11.01.2022 City 1, Country 1

11.01.2022 A great day in Orange for day 1 of the U13s. Clear skies and 22 degrees. Now for some great cricket.

09.01.2022 An eventful first day!

09.01.2022 One of our multi x January Carnival participants from across the ditch rubbing shoulders.

09.01.2022 The U15 carnival finished up today with wins to Mitchell over Dubbo in the boys and Manly-Warringah over Parramatta in the Girls. Both were shortened to 15 over matches to maximize the potential for a result given morning rain and more forecast later in the day. Blake Kruezberger setup Mitchell with a powerful 53 off just 17 balls and the 140 Mitchell total was too much for a valiant Dubbo who went down fighting. Manly posted a dominant 113 off their 15 overs in the girls wit...h Chloe Osborne leading the way with 36 from 24 balls and well supported by Hannah Woolf and Kate Salmon, the score too big for Parra to chase down. A big thanks to all teams this week, the cricket was played in great spirit. Especially big thanks to Wakatipu High School from NZ and St Johns Academy from India, we loved having you and hope you enjoyed your time in Orange.

08.01.2022 Thanks to everyone for coming to the InterSport City v Country U13 T20 last night at Wade Park. A big thanks to InterSport for sponsoring the evening and supplying all the players with shirts. Well done to City on the defence of your title!

06.01.2022 The Orange District Junior Cricket Association committee has made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the 2021 carnivals. We acknowledge that current public health orders do not prevent the continuance of the carnivals and that playing cricket outdoors is a lower risk activity, however, continuing to host the carnivals undeniably brings about an increased risk of coronavirus entering the Orange community. We have 21 teams from Greater Sydney booked to come - possibly... over 600 people from Greater Sydney. The list of compromised venues and suburbs across Sydney continues to grow each day. The effect of Christmas Day, and indeed New Years Eve is yet to be reflected in case numbers. Given that the incubation period is 14 days, with many not testing positive until day 10 or later, this impact will not be known until teams are already in Orange. Our priority must be the health of both Orange and neighbouring regional and remote communities. Orange is a major centre for shopping and social gatherings for people living in rural and remote areas of NSW. Rural and remote communities are particularly vulnerable. In light of the: 1. current spread of the coronavirus outside the Northern Beaches, 2. uncertainty regarding the extent of transmission resulting from increased social contact over Christmas, New Year 3. higher risk to rural and remote communities from the spread of the disease in regional centres like Orange, it has been decided that even the small risk associated with coronavirus entering the Orange community outweighs the opportunities of hosting the Western NSW Junior Cricket Carnivals in 2021. We understand this decision will leave many disappointed and frustrated, however, we believe this is the most responsible decision to make. We will of course provide full refunds to all teams. Thank you for your understanding. Fingers crossed for a vaccine soon so we can put the coronavirus pandemic behind us. We look forward to a return of the carnivals in January 2022.

05.01.2022 Well done Western on your win! Third time lucky.

04.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that registrations are now open for our 2021 January Cricket Carnivals in Orange. More info here: https://januarycarnivals.com.au

02.01.2022 Today's draw is now ready, please note different start times, synthetics 9am, Molong and KWS Main 10am, JB1 and 2 - estimated 11am, we'll get an update from groundsman at 9:30am. Inner West Harbour v Parramatta 1 now on JB2. http://westernjuniorcarnivals.nsw.cricket.com.au//draw.asp

01.01.2022 It wouldn't be a junior carnival without a batting collapse, and this one was a big one - with Western Blue losing 8-25 - but a phenomenal rear-guard effort got... them far closer to the line than anyone would have thought. Catch all the action from the opening day of the Western NSW Junior Cricket Carnivals' under 15 girls' matches.

01.01.2022 Guidelines for Hydration... It's going to be hot again tomorrow, and after a day in the heat today, please ensure that your players have plenty of water, with breaks in the shade.

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, the draw is finalised for tomorrow in terms of who plays who, however, grounds are not locked in. Some turf grounds are definitely out, those grounds show a blank for now. Some turf grounds still have a chance and remain in the draw. The priority will be to get the 2 semi-finals on turf, grounds may change to accommodate this. The synthetics will be allocated once we know how many turf games get on. The committee will be out at 6:30am to assess the situation, speak with groundsmen etc, hang tight and we will post an update once we know things. No turf game will start before 10am. If you know you are on synthetic tomorrow (no ground allocated yet) prepare for a 9am start unless you hear otherwise. We hope to update grounds by 7:30am.
