23.01.2022 Hello to the weekend!

23.01.2022 We work with autistic people, and were told our social story is of great use when it comes to appointments with us. Have you seen it: https://www.westernspecialneedsdentistry.com.au//social-s/

23.01.2022 Weve given our website a bit of a spruce up- have a look for yourself: www.westernspecialneedsdentistry.com.au

22.01.2022 Teddy had a check up- is this not the cutest thing youve seen all day?

21.01.2022 At Western Special Needs Dentistry, we believe that dentistry is secondary to connecting with people. Strong communication and listening skills are our key strength- we have longer appointments so we can fully understand the patients issues and prioritise treatment. We provide individual treatment plans that are firmly in the context of our patients abilities and medical considerations.

20.01.2022 Hows this for a lovely sensory toy? Our wonderful hand model couldnt stop playing with it.

20.01.2022 Have you met the team at Western Special Needs Dentistry? https://www.westernspecialneedsdentistry.com.au/our-people/

17.01.2022 Dr Helen regularly speaks at conferences and events about working with autistic patients and she has quite the toolkit of success strategies, including providing an array of sensory toys like this one.

17.01.2022 Adventures of a travelling Special Needs Dentist- not a bad view on a day of home visits a few weeks ago! Its lovely for our team to get out of the clinic, enjoy the views, and treat people in their homes. For more information, please contact us.

17.01.2022 Sneak peek time- we have new flyers *almost* ready! So close now, the ink is actually drying. If youd like copies to share with people who may be in need of Special Needs Dentistry, please contact us.

13.01.2022 One of the key differences in our clinic, and in our speciality of special needs dentistry is our ability to treat people in their wheelchair, if necessary. We also offer home visits- find out more by contacting us.

13.01.2022 When mum becomes the dental chair... (Please note, this photo was taken before family members started wearing masks)

13.01.2022 Say hello to our travelling Special Needs Dentist, about to visit a group home and still smiling after a massive day of visiting 13 patients! Please contact Hayley at the clinic for more information about our home visits service.

12.01.2022 Chris had a great time at his dentist appointment recently, including using the laughing gas to blow up our balloon! Well done, Chris

12.01.2022 Thanks for coming to see us, Chris and Vicky!

11.01.2022 All finished, Michael!

11.01.2022 Did you know we have online booking? Click through from our Facebook homepage or our website, choose the date and time that suits you best, and away you go! We also have home visits- these need to be organised via Hayley by giving the clinic a buzz.

10.01.2022 One of the things we love about our clinic- other than being co-located with our fabulous colleagues Verdant Dental is how spacious it is. As you can see here, we have plenty of space for people to be treated in their wheelchair.

10.01.2022 On Fridays we fidget spin! We love these ones picked up by Dr Helen at an expo last year, and so do our patients.

10.01.2022 Well, hello Hayley! Its Hayley who greets our patients at the clinic, and its Hayleys lovely British accent on the other end of the phone when you call our clinic to book an appointment. She also organises Dr Helens schedule for her home visits- contact us (well, contact Hayley!) for more information.

10.01.2022 Have you met our welcoming and friendly receptionist Hayley? It's Hayley who answers our phone with her lovely British accent! Hayley comes from a banking background and she completed a Certificate in Medical Administration last year. Hayley has found working in Special Needs Dentistry for the past 18 months incredibly rewarding, and enjoys working with Dr Helen and Allie to support patients with special needs and their families.

09.01.2022 Happiest of happy birthdays to our Dr Helen for yesterday!

09.01.2022 Smile- its Friday!

09.01.2022 Hopefully these shoes will be able to head out for some home visits after lock down finishes. For more information about our appointments at home, please contact us at the clinic.

08.01.2022 There is so much we love about our clinic, colocated with Verdant Dental. One of the best things though is the sheer space- we can treat people in their wheelchair if required, with plenty of room to spare.

08.01.2022 Keep up the great brushing, Ben!

07.01.2022 Looking good, Dean! Our tooth mirror gets quite the workout in our appointments.

07.01.2022 This is very helpful, thanks to the Childrens Hospital

05.01.2022 This is one of our favourite images from our photoshoot earlier this year- we love a laugh!

05.01.2022 A toothbrush in one hand, a (tooth) mirror in the other- the perfect start to an appointment with the dentist!

05.01.2022 Hows this for a cool sensory toy? This one is mesmerising.

05.01.2022 We usually love our Fridays in the clinic...however, during level 4 lock down we will just be opening on Wednesdays. We will be here for our patients over the next six weeks. We are able to treat emergencies and carry out procedures which will prevent the deterioration of underlying health conditions. We are also able to conduct examinations, so please get in touch with us if you have any concerns.

05.01.2022 While we L-O-V-E our clinic in Niddrie with our colleagues Verdant Dental we always have a spring in our step on our home visit days- did you know this is a service we can provide? Contact us for more information.

03.01.2022 Did you know we are co-located with Verdant Dental in Niddrie? Such a great space.

03.01.2022 In February, we had a photoshoot with our fabulous photographer Nerida Phelan Photography and this is one of the outcomes from the day- a brand new social story for Western Special Needs Dentistry: https://www.westernspecialneedsdentistry.com.au//social-s/

02.01.2022 One of the things we love best about our clinic is that it is very spacious (note, this photo taken before family members needed to wear masks)

02.01.2022 All smiles in our waiting room this morning!

02.01.2022 When theyre not working with our incredible patients, youll find the Western Special Needs Dentistry team moonlighting as ... well, who knows how to describe this look? Back to work, team!

01.01.2022 Dr Helen talks alot about success strategies- one of our favourites is a social story. We have a fabulous social story on our website which shares step by step the experience of coming to the clinic but we also encourage patients to create their own. https://www.westernspecialneedsdentistry.com.au//social-s/

01.01.2022 Thanks Vicky for helping us out for a few weeks- Is it too early for a Christmas gown? Never! FYI- our last day in the clinic for 2020 is December 23rd and we'll be back in the clinic Verdant Dental on Wednesday 13 January. We have limited availability- take a peek on our online booking system.

01.01.2022 Congratulations Harper! We ran a competition at an event asking whats the best thing about going to the dentist? Harpers answer was that she likes having clean, white teeth. Great answer Harper Doesnt she look happy with her new electric toothbrush?
