06.01.2022 8 BABIES A DAY 8 babies are born every day with a heart defect in Australia. Every week, 4 lives are lost. No family should face this alone.... Nate is one of the 4 precious lives lost each week to congenital heart disease in Australia. Nate was born in March 2016 after being diagnosed at his 36 week scan. Nate had 4 major surgeries in his short life, he passed away at 19 weeks due to pulmonary vein stenosis. Nate's Mum generously shared their story and these photos, rainbow baby Chet is pictured with big brother Nate's heart beads. Amelia said: "They say good things happen to those who wait and for us a miracle happened! We were blessed with another beautiful healthy baby boy who we named Chet Nathaniel (something little to honour his super hero brother from above). A beautiful rainbow appears after a storm and for us that definitely did happen so now we get to tell Chet all about his brave big brother Nate who couldn’t be here to grow up with him but who gets to live on in all our hearts." HeartKids needs your help to provide vital support for more of our precious Heart Angel families all across Australia. Please SHARE + DONATE to show your heart. www.sweetheartday.org.au
