19.01.2022 Dear Western Sydney Law Students, I have reached the end of my term as President of the Western Sydney Law Students Association for 2019. When I first elected for this position, I didnt think I was near capable to do what I achieved this year! Especially working full time, studying full time and trying to succeed my role as President. We facilitated more events than ever before. Some of my favourite events include but are not limited to: Inviting a panel of barristers to t...alk about life as a barrister, facilitating a panel of criminal lawyers to discuss life in criminal law and my most favourite event, A Night at Chambers which consisted of the networking and panel discussion of 8 judges from different courts. I wish I could include everything in this post that was achieved this year but my favourite part of this role was meeting, mentoring and inspiring my peers around me. This role has been the highlight of my university life and I have learned so much. I am excited to take on more leadership roles in the future and excited to see what lies ahead. I hope I served my fellow students well! Below you will find a speech I had written when The Hon. Michael Kirby spoke at our university last week. It emphasises my love and passion for our students. I can truly say I love Western Sydney University and everyone in it. Please always know, I am always available to help. My favourite thing was being able to talk and interact with students and I will continue to do so here on with anything from venting your exam stress to career advice, I will always be here! Thank you to my fellow executives and committee members along the way, especially Juan Roldan who is now our Vice President for 2020. There are many things I wish I did differently. From now, I am the Immediate Past President and will be acting as an advisor for the new executive in 2020. Thank you all for a fantastic year. Yours faithfully, Jaime-Lee Morrison Immediate Past President WSLSA 2019
