23.01.2022 Thank you for your patience as we have navigated the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic these past few months, we hope you have been keeping active! Previous Public Health Orders have had our planned event date in a position where there was hope we may be able to proceed. However, due to the Public Health Orders and guidelines currently in place, including restrictions around gatherings and movement, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this years event. Why has ...this decision been made? The Office of Sport had previously made the decision to cancel all events up until 31 May 2020. Since this time, we have closely monitored the situation, seeking advice from NSW Health and the State Emergency Operations Centre. While some restrictions may be easing from Friday 15 May 2020, it has become clear that the safest and most appropriate action to give our participants certainty is to cancel the event and commence planning for 2021. Consideration was given to moving the date to later in the year, however our decision not to was based on venue availability and a busy running calendar in the later part of the year. Has a date been set for 2021? Yes. We can confirm the 2021 Western Sydney Marathon will take place at the Sydney International Regatta Centre on Sunday 27th June 2021. Registrations will re-open shortly, stay tuned. What does this mean for my registration? We are offering a free transfer of your entry to the 2021 event. You do not need to do anything to take advantage of this, your registration will simply carry over. Alternatively, you are entitled to a refund. The refund will exclude surcharges and booking fees and is only applicable for paid registrations for 2020. Complimentary entries or transfers from 2019 will be transferred to 2021. All registered participants will shortly receive an e-mail with further information on claiming a refund. Sunday 28th June, 2020 After reading through the feedback both pre and post event this year (thanks to all who took the time to complete), we found many people who wanted to, were unable to participate in the event due to other regular sporting commitments on a Saturday morning, so in 2020 well be back at the fantastic Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith for the 11th time, and a Sunday morning run!... We will again have the five race distances to choose from. Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10km, 5km and 2km. Stay tuned for more updates, a new website and registration details in the coming weeks.

10.01.2022 We're all about fun, so we're pretty chuffed to have Fit 4 All bringing along their awesome inflatable obstacle course to the Western Sydney Marathon on Saturday 1 June. We bags first go! If the running / cheering doesn't wear out the kids, this certainly will. It's almost a race in itself!... Located just around the corner from the Regatta Centre in Unit 5C 16/24 Borec Road, as well as a full gym, they can host a killer kids party with these inflatables which are also open to all on certain days. 10.01.2022 We sure did miss rolling out the Blue carpet, hearing the early morning banging of marquees popping up, managing the rush of runners lining up for a pre-race bathroom dash, watching families find the best spot on the hill to cheer on and snap race photos of loved ones, watching the Marathon runners take off under lights, breathing steam, and most of all, those smiles building down the straight home to the finish line even if the legs were wonky and the feet blistery. Theres always just enough in the tank for a leap at the finish line! Wouldve been another lovely day for a run, we hope you managed to clock up a few kms regardless and are keeping safe. Bring on 2021! Let the preparations begin.

10.01.2022 Coming by public transport on Saturday? A free shuttle bus courtesy of Quest Penrith will be running on race day from the Northern Exit at Penrith Station, directly opposite Quest. Operating on a loop between Quest and the Regatta Centre from 5:15am with the last trip back to Penrith station around 1:30 - 1:45pm. The trip should take approx 10 minutes, so pickups from the station will be every 20/25 minutes or so (traffic pending). Please be patient in peak times.... 07.01.2022 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19s) impact on communities across NSW and Australia is evolving rapidly. The Office of Sport is monitoring advice from NSW Health and the Department of Health in relation to physical activity. On Sunday 15 March, NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard made an Order under Section 7 of the Public Health Act 2010 to force the immediate cancellation of major events with more than 500 people. As our event date currently falls outside the existing order, we are ...monitoring the situation closely to give the Western Sydney Marathon every opportunity to go ahead as scheduled. We will provide further updates as the situation develops, and direct communication to all of our participants if the Order is updated and/or extended. 06.01.2022 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19’s) impact on communities across NSW and Australia is evolving rapidly. The Office of Sport is monitoring advice from NSW Health and the Department of Health in relation to physical activity. On Sunday 15 March, NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard made an Order under Section 7 of the Public Health Act 2010 to force the immediate cancellation of major events with more than 500 people. As our event date currently falls outside the existing order, we are ...monitoring the situation closely to give the Western Sydney Marathon every opportunity to go ahead as scheduled. We will provide further updates as the situation develops, and direct communication to all of our participants if the Order is updated and/or extended. 06.01.2022 With social distancing restrictions seeing events like ours cancelled or put on hold for time being, we want to ensure everyone is still remaining active, and our friends at Run NSW & Greater Bank have a new virtual running event that is a great way to keep you on the move. The Greater Bank Virtual Fun Run gives participants of all ages, abilities and fitness levels the opportunity to test themselves against others in the community and across the state by covering 5km in your... neighbourhood. Theyre also helping with a Bank Your Kilometres training program. This 5-week program is tailored for beginner and intermediate runners, and designed by the elite runners and coaches from RunNSW. 05.01.2022 Start rounding up your friends, family, workmates, teammates... 2020 Western Sydney Marathon registrations are just around the corner, just a few more things to check off and well begin the countdown to event day, Sunday 28th June, 2020 at the Regatta Centre in Penrith. We are also currently locking in event partners, sponsors, prize packs and various stalls / activities for the on site expo. 04.01.2022 KEY DATES TO NOTE MERCH - If you want to purchase any event merch, your order needs to be in today (Sunday 26th May) so they can be ready for on the day pick up in the ThermaTech marquee. RACE ENTRY - Online entries close midnight this Wednesday 29th May. While you can register on the day, the price is an additional $5 (please bring exact amount in cash), we would love to save on paper, and not have you stuck in queues when you could be preparing. If registering on the day, you need to be at the rego area 1 hour before your race starts. ON THE DAY BIB PICK UP - You can pick up in the rego area 1 hour before the start of each race. It's a busy venue, but there are a few opportunities over the next couple of weeks for you to sneak in a few laps before the big day. 04.01.2022 Last years marathon winner and one of our race ambassadors Brendan Davies of UP Coaching is tomorrow hosting the first of four FREE Run with Confidence workshops as part of the lead in to the Western Sydney Marathon. These workshops occur before either Penrith Lakes parkrun and Nepean River parkrun at their locations. All are welcome and particularly suits beginner runners.... Please see event for more details.

Base Zero - Mobile Rock Climbing Sydney will be on site at Western Sydney Marathon on the Village Green right near the big Fit 4 All inflatable obstacle course and race start line. Running or not, come along to Sydney International Regatta Centre - NSW Gov on Saturday 1st June, bring the family, cheer along those running, or register yourself / family/ workmates in one of the five di...stances while you still can. Entry / Parking is free, and there is a free shuttle bus running on a loop from outside Quest Penrith (opposite Penrith Station). 02.01.2022 Whether joining in the races or just spectating, all kids are welcome on the day. The STARStv crew will be back bringing their fun and games to Western Sydney Marathon on Saturday 1 June. Join them on the Village Green and around the course across the morning. Our 2km Youth Dash will run at 10:30am for those aged between 6 & 16 and is a great way for the youth to experience being part of a big event. Stick around to cheer them home! Entry is only $10. There is no age limit o...n the 5km Family Fun Run, those 0-5 are free (but do need to be registered - prams are welcome in this one) and those under 16 accompanied by an adult.
