25.01.2022 Oh yes , no surprise whats been going on here

24.01.2022 WSM are excited to reveal Aussie Olympian John Steffensen has joined our team for round 1 of the 2020 Aussie Racing Car series at the Bathurst 12 hour next weekend. John has been racing cars extensively in the past couple of years and achieved some mainstream big results in last years Carrera Cup and is a winner by trade so we are excited to see how he goes in our little rocket car.

24.01.2022 Craig Woods' run of shocking luck found him once again yesterday in the final two SuperUtes Series races on the Gold Coast, race two in the morning he got caught up in a race incident that saw him not finish the race and extensive damage to the front of the Penrith Toyota Hilux. The Sieders Racing team worked extremely hard and managed to repair the ute for Craig to run in the last race. However whilst it was fixed he just didn't have the pace in the end to match the other runners and came home in 9th. One final round to go in four weeks time at Newcastle, and again with the Aussie Racing Cars.

24.01.2022 Wish we were here

22.01.2022 We are here and its hot!!! Cars being prepd and the boys are about to embark on the track walk, just quietly we think they are going to drive not walk the track keep an eye on our page for updates.

21.01.2022 Aussie Racing Cars Round 1 Bathurst 12 Hour Saturday Wrap WESTERN SYDNEY MOTORSPORT looked likely to win the opening round of the Aussie Racing Cars Championship Series until a clash with a rival on the final lap.... Craig Woods (AMP Electrics Mustang) had the lead of race four on the one-lap sprint to the flag after a safety car period. But he was turned around at the Chase after contact with Paul Morris. Woods was able to regather and complete the race in ninth position. We have lodged a protest, he said but it appeared the officials deemed it a racing incident. It happened, its behind us and we move on. Earlier in the reverse grid race where he started ninth, Woods worked his way through to third. A great passing move at the Chase on the last lap put Woods second ahead of Morris who was able to sneak past at the final corner. After losing two engines on Friday, Saturday was a much happy day for team chief Craig Thompson in his WSM Mustang. He finished 13th in race three and scored a top ten in eighth in race four. Likewise, his brother Grant was able to partake in Saturday races after an early crash the day before. Although the Mustang was not right, Grant Thompson was able to plug along to 17th and 18th respectively. The teams newest recruit, former Commonwealth Games silver medal athlete John Steffensen (Jayco Mustang) was the Rookie winner after finishing 12th and 13th. The team has been fantastic with their guidance, particularly with the advice from Woodsy. WSMs two other supported drivers Ben Walsh and Charlotte Poynting crashed out of race four at turn two on the first lap, embroiled in the same accident. Walsh had spun there in race three on the opening lap and was able to fight back to sixth. Poynting finished that race eighth, surviving contact with Craig Thompson at Murrays Corner earlier on. We now head to Tassie for the second round in April.

21.01.2022 Day Two was another big day for the team in both the Aussie Racing Cars and in the SuperUtes Series - Craig Thompson's workload was full on in both classes with battles in both. "Day two of the Newcastle 500 and I am really feeling these double duties , In one and half days Ive completed 8 sessions across two categories , about 160 minutes on track and around 90 laps , no cool suits in my rigs either!" he said. Craig Woods day in the SuperUte ended on lap one unfortunately w...hen he found the wall on the beach side of the track, he feared much better in the Aussie car with 5th and 7th places. Grant Thompson has been enjoying the Newcastle street circuit, "Really enjoying the Newcastle track first time here so was quite eye-opening as there is a lot of high commitment sections I am slowly building up speed in those areas. I Started out of 30th for Race 1 and managed to move 6 spots to 24th, in Race 2 I managed to avoid an incident early on in the race getting up to 21st. Looking forward to the 2 races today" Justin Ruggier has kept it steady with two third spots yesterday after some pretty big battles with the front runners. And Blake Sciberras' tough 2019 season has continued, he came home 6th in race one but did not finish the second race. Two more races left in the series for 2019, the top 10 reverse grid gets underway at 9.40am and the last at 12.15pm, just to add to the experience its been raining this morning here in Newcastle.

21.01.2022 Wet race today for race 1. Had some seriously mega wet pace but unfortunately had a spin while battling for P2 with Cameron Crick, but still managed a P4 finis...h. Got the first ever V8 SuperUte lap record, 1.7 seconds faster than anyone, in pretty ordinary conditions. Would ofs, could ofs, but with that sort of pace I should've won it comfortably.

20.01.2022 BIG weekend ahead of us, with our Aussie Racing Cars and the SuperUtes Series all currently being setup and either end of the race track keep an eye on our page for photos and daily reports.

19.01.2022 We had a number of our Aussie Cars at SMP testing today, including this legend Olympic Medalist John Steffensen a great sportsman and Aussie Racing Cars peddler, hopefully we get him on the grid for the Bathurst 12 Hour in two weeks time!! Watch this space! Thanks to our mates at Velocity Magazine for the great pics

19.01.2022 We start them early at WSM Woodsy’s little Boy Harry

16.01.2022 Our V8 SuperUtes Series boys Craig Woods and Ben Walsh have had a big weekend in the newly upgraded series at the Bend Motorsport Park this weekend. Woodys has finished the weekend one step off the podium in fourth with Ben behind him in fifth. It’s the first time out for the series with the new V8 LS3 power plants and certainly a steep learning curve from getting them off the line in a standing start to handling the new tyres especially in the wet and a dirty track when off ...line. To getting the new lease of life of power down to the ground. Well done team, we will regroup - look at the results and get ready for the second round at Winton 29-30 May. 16.01.2022 So last night this happened - our own amazing driver Justin Ruggier was crowned the 2019 Aussie Racing Cars Champion - we did it, we won the national series!! Thank you Justin and the whole team. #no1 #champions

16.01.2022 Also today at SMP was our old mate Ben Walsh, Ben is stepping into one of our Aussie Racing Cars for round 1 at the Bathurst 12 Hour

16.01.2022 Whos keen for a legends lid - place your bid

15.01.2022 Craig Woods had two on track session today in the SuperUtes Series with qualifying this morning and then the first of three races late this afternoon after the Supercars race. Woodsy qualified the Penrith Toyota Superute in fifth spot and thats where he would stay for the race as well. Craig had this to say after today's runs, "Getting there. After taking minimal part in practice one, weve worked out way into a competitive position finishing 5th with nothing between 3rd, 4th or 5th in race one. With a better start tomorrow well be in the game"

14.01.2022 HAHA Cool shot here from the Aussie Racing Cars (and our) photographer of Ben Walsh's Mustang spitting flames at the B12HR!

14.01.2022 A crazy-busy day for our Aussie Racing Cars teams and drivers here at the Gold Coast 600 alongside of the Supercars. Today, Friday saw us on track three times with Practice - Qualifying and Race One. Justin Ruggier is leading the championship and qualified well in second place, young Blake Sciberras was fifth fastest, Craig Thompson was 14th and Grant Thommo was 19th in the 20 Minute session.... In another exciting ARC race Justin was battling if out for the top spot with Joel Heinrich and Kel Treseder and would end up in third at the chequered flag, Blake would come home sixth after having a race long battle with Joshua Anderson. Grant would finish up in 16th making up a few spots and Craig had a race to probably not think about, he was turned around right in front of our camera man on the exit to the front chicane, and the damage to the front body work saw smoke and sparks flying he was 24th. We have two more races tomorrow, first up at 8.30am and then again at 12.50pm (all QLD time)

14.01.2022 Yip we should be at Winton Motor Raceway today we miss you all!

12.01.2022 THERE WAS JUST one race left of the sixth round of the Aussie Racing Cars on Sunday, and going into to it our own Justin Ruggier was second in the round points and up the front of the grid, but during the race Justin broke an axle which saw him plummet down the order to finish 21st, he banked points from the weekend but missed out on the podium. In complete contrast the team boss Craig Thompson who's weekend started off badly was true to his word and threw everything he had a...t it for the rest of the weekend, and in Sundays race he finished 9th after starting 14th, he also won the Gold Cup too! "She is a little banged up after racing on the streets of surfers paradise this weekend, I got a P9 finish in todays race. Won the gold cup for the weekend, super happy with how it finished up after such a hard start to the weekend." Blake Sciberras was the highest placed WSM finisher on Sunday in 6th spot after some great battles with Kody Garland and Kyle Ensbey. Grant Thomo struggled in the final race with a bit of a lose and settled in 22nd place. There is one round to go and its pretty much our home race event this year - the Newcastle 500 gets underway in four weeks time.

12.01.2022 Aussie Racing Cars Round 1 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour WOODSY WINS THOMMO DETONATES ENGINES GT FINDS THE WALL AND JOHN GOES ROUND AND ROUND... That pretty much sums up day one here at Mount Panorama for the WSM Team, but we are all still smiling. IT WAS a solid start to the Aussie Racing Cars Championship Series for Western Sydney Motorsport, particularly for the fulltime return of Craig Woods #64. Driving one of the teams Mustang bodied racers, Woods qualified fifth and finished third in race one and then won the second to score a positive result at the end of day one at the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour. Throughout the safety car interrupted and shortened event, Woods was embroiled in a multi-car battle for victory, getting to second at one stage and dropping to fourth at another before consolidating in the minor placing. In the second outing Woods was fourth in the early stages but worked his way to the lead on lap three, one he would hold for the rest of nine-lap event. He even pulled a one-plus second gap, but it was tight in the end. Meanwhile WSM debutant and former Commonwealth Games silver medalist John Steffensen finished 18th in race one after getting as high at 16th and followed up with securing 16th in the second race. Team leader Craig Thompson lost two engines in one day. The first came in qualifying where the powerplant detonated as he ran down pit straight. It was replaced for race one where he finished 13th. In the second outing Thompson crossed the finish line 14th and just as the replacement engine dropped its internals and caught fire. For Craigs brother Grant Thompson it was short-lived success after qualifying in 13th position. He was a first lap, race one casualty when crashing on the run down the mountain. Unfortunately, it was not repairable in enough time to take the grid for race two. There are two more races to run tomorrow, one mid morning and the last in the late afternoon, and as today its expected to crack 39C!!

12.01.2022 Absolutely brilliant stuff from Ben Walsh in todays race 1 had our hilux on the absolute limit . He has positioned himself well for a great result this weekend

12.01.2022 Wow whats this it fits nicely

11.01.2022 SuperUtes Series Friday Wrap Qualifying and Race 1 Craig Woods and Craig Thompson were back on track today at Mount Panorama Bathurst for qualifying as the first on track session and then race 1 which was the last session for the day.... Woodsy qualified in 8th and Thommo was 13th, both of our drivers were on hot laps when the red flag came out just prior to the end of the session which meant the were unable to complete the lap and secure spots higher up the grid. Mid afternoon the heavens opened with the forecast rain which would see the SuperUtes on track with the heaviest rain showers just as the race began. Craig Thompson had this to say summing up Friday race, "I had a great start I got in behind woodsy going into turn one then had to follow him off track to avoid the carnage at turn one . I then got caught out on lap two with the oil and got stuck up against the fence at turn 2 had to engage reverse which is a big task in these things . Unfortunately I went back to last by a very long way. I managed to reel in both of the Rangers . It was very treacherous out there tonight, lots of oil everywhere." And Craig Woods #64 told us this, "Another day day on the mountain qualifying in 7th missing the run due to a red flag at the midway point of qually. The race was also a bit of a disaster with a out of control car making heaving contact with the front right wheel causing a severely bent steering ending any chance of being competitive. Back into it tomorrow." The SuperUtes have two races tomorrow, at 8.35am and 1.25pm.

10.01.2022 Craig Woods has had two practice session today here on the Gold Coast for the SuperUtes Series alongside of the Supercars for the GC600.

09.01.2022 Western Sydney Motorsport would like to wish our Craig Woods a happy 36th birthday today . Luv your work dude

08.01.2022 Its Sunday on the Mountain, that means the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 is upon us, it also means our own Craig Woods and Craig Thompson had a BIG day up there yesterday with two races, you can see the photos from these below. The first race of the day was a reverse grid which saw the team boss Thommo running up front and Woodsy coming in from mid pack. Woods would finish in P2 and Thommo in 6th. The final race they would be line abreast with Woodsy ahead in 6th. Thommo su...mmed up his weekend: "Thats a wrap from Bathurst finished 7th for the round thanks to a couple of guys not finishing, probably the best I could of expected based on who I was up against . I drove as hard as I could , considering I havent had much luck here in the past . I finished with a clean car and got in front of some guys that had pace on me early in the weekend @ Mt Panorama Racing Track, thanks to Alex Stuart and the whole Sieders Racing for a big weekend" And Craig Woods finished the round in sixth place, "a bit of a tough weekend but was happy to score a 2nd place and finish the weekend where we did, a few dents in the Penrith Toyota Hilux this weekend from racing hard, we'll fix those and be ready to race on the Gold Coast in a couple of weeks!" The Supercars Gold Coast 600 is up next, its another BIG round for the WSM team as both the SuperUtes Series and Aussie Racing Cars will be on track.

07.01.2022 More on track action (mostly) from our own Craig Woods and Craig Thompson this afternoon in the SuperUtes Series, this time from the Chase. We will have our Thursday wrap up soon.

07.01.2022 Aussie Racing Cars Round 6 Gold Coast 600 Saturday Wrap... WSM's Justin Ruggier has continued his march towards the championship win cementing a bag of points with two third spots in today's two races making it three from three so far this weekend. "What Racing is all about, tried hard today - no horsepower but good points, Press on tomorrow " said Justine. Blake Sciberras had two hard fought races that would see him home in 9th and 6th spots today. Craig Thompson turned his foul day yesterday into something today with two 12th spots after staring at the back in today's first race. "I was dead and buried after the first of four races this weekend when I crashed out in race one, but somehow Ive managed to achieve something out of gods book in todays races and got up to the back of the top ten with a slightly broken car Im still amazed with how it happened but the pre race pep talks from my race engineers are simply amazing . I need to find another 10% for tomorrow in order to get the gold cup . Im going all in for the last!" said Thommo. And Grant Thomo banked a 16th and 17th finish in the races today with some great dices throughout the event. The final race gets underway at 9.20 QLD time.

07.01.2022 Our Aussie Racing Cars were back on track today for the final round at the Newcastle 500 and our championship leader Justin Ruggier was off to a great start, he was fastest in the practice session first up this morning and qualified in his Carl's Jr. Australia Mustang in second spot for tomorrows race one. Craig Woods #64 had a good day back in the Aussie car, he was second fastest for practice and qualified 5th. Young Blake Sciberras will start from ninth, Craig Thompson sat... out more than half of qualifying with a blown engine but will start in a credible 12th spot and Grant Thompson gets underway from 30 for tomorrows race one. The first race is at 9.20am and race two is soon following at 11.45am.

06.01.2022 Unfortunately it appears our team won’t be racing at Wakefield park for round 2 of the ARC series in 2020. At this Point everything regards racing into the existing year is on hold , hopefully for our fans and our drivers we get the opportunity to backup for round 2 at Bathurst but it is a wait and see at this stage

Craig Woods summed up his day, "Today was a fairly good day. Felt comfortable in the car after a good 2-3 months out. P5 in the first practice and never really found the groove in practice 2, finishing 6th. (May have fell asleep in the race car waiting for the session to start) :P Tomorrows the day when it all counts. Come at me." Craig Thompson had a bit of a tough day finishing P14 in the first session and P12 in the other. The new setups on the utes sees them almost 5 seconds quicker a lap. The Superutes start the day tomorrow, and they also end it as the only race of the day for the class gets underway at 4.55pm, and the weather is expected to play a part with rain predicted.

03.01.2022 Our two Craig's in Craig Thompson and Craig Woods have a big weekend coming up in Newcastle with both drivers on double duties in both the Aussie Racing Cars and the SuperUtes Series, Woodsy is jumping into Thommo's ARC car and he'll be in the teams spare car, and in their respective Toyota Hilux's - which incidentally will be running the final round with diesel engines as they go for V8 power-plants in 2020!
