25.01.2022 A productive day at Westerway Railway Station today. All thanks, as always, to our volunteers. The day involved general tidying up, plumbing and drainage works, painting and carpentry. The station building was built in 1909, when the Derwent Valley Line was extended from Glenora.
22.01.2022 Today a team of volunteers spent the day at Westerway Station, giving the 109 year-old building some TLC. Westerway Station was opened to great fanfare in 1909 ...and was the terminus of the Derwent Valley Line until 1916 when the line was extended to National Park (Mt Field). Westerway Station is an important heritage building as one of the few surviving railway stations in Tasmania and the sole survivor of its type. A big thank you to our volunteers for all their hard work today! See more

10.01.2022 It's a credit what the Fingal community have done to their Railway Station. We can do this at Westerway too.
08.01.2022 The Westerway Railway Station has been part of the Derwent Valley community for 107 years. What are your memories? Do you know stories about it's past? Or do you have photographs? Please share them with us.
07.01.2022 A little short notice (oops :-p) but we are having a working bee at Westerway station tomorrow and a BBQ lunch. We should be there no later than 10.30am
06.01.2022 A century of colours on Westerway station
02.01.2022 A Tasmanian locomotive company excursion train passes by the Westerway Railway station circa 1989. The Tasmanian Locomotive company later sold its assets to the newly formed Derwent Valley Railway Preservation Society in 1990. The steam locomotive at the head of this train H2 is awaiting final restoration at the Derwent Valley Railway workshops.
