18.01.2022 The WGCA is seeking Expressions of Interest for a COVID Officer for the WGCA. The role will involve overseeing COVID Controls in the WGCA for the 20/21 season. Such an officer will need to complete the appropriate COVID-19 Training. Please respond asap to the Secretary WGCA. Applications by September 28 2020.

15.01.2022 GIRLS CRICKET BLASTS OFF On a balmy evening at Upper Beaconsfield an All Stars Girls match demonstrated the development of the competition. Girls had enthusiastically welcomed skins as an alternative to white pants while bopping music created a fun background to the cricket being played. All this and an appreciative audience of families, friends and relatives to cheer the girls on. Upper Beaconsfield eventually prevailed over the Demons All Star team from Koo Wee Rup. A numb...er of girls showed superb talent Ava Tidyman caught, batted and bowled well for the Maroons. The O’Hara sisters Bel and Sophie starred with the ball for the Demons. The WGCA is hoping that the growth will continue and urges clubs to create a team. You only need five to start a team. The stage 2 competition has also commenced with Carlisle Park and Officer recording strong wins. Hopefully after Christmas, all teams will enjoy a Pink Stumps day where the emphasis will be upon fun and fundraising. Further details will soon be available.

08.01.2022 VALE STEVE SIMPSON The WGCA is sad to report that Steve Simpson from Tooradin Cricket Club recently passed away. He had filled the role of Junior Coordinator at Tooradin and was an enthusiastic worker for the WGCA representative teams. He also had recently agreed to take on a role on the Junior Management Committee for the WGCA. Steve’s loss will not only impact Tooradin CC but it will also affect junior cricket for the WGCA. The Board of Management of the WGCA extends its condolences to Nikki and the Simpson family.

01.01.2022 Hi All, As part of the preparation for the approaching WGCA All Stars Girls season a planning meeting is being organized. It will be online. You are... invited to express interest. If you know others who would like to attend please let them know. The idea will be to share ideas / identify challenges as well as solutions for the competition. There will be examination of the age groups/rules/ policies/ and values for the competition. The meeting will take place Saturday September 12 between 12.00 and 2.00pm. Please find attached an expression of interest form for All Stars Girls. If you return the completed form we will send you a link for the meeting.. Look forward to your contribution.
