25.01.2022 The weekend WW rides will resume soon. In the meantime, this ride on Saturday will be a cracker in the Nongs! You have 2 time options from the Basin Carpark:... 7AM ROLL or 8AM ROLL (to be picked up by the 7am crew) Be there at least 15mins before your ride train leaves as it won't wait... The 8am crew can add the 1st climb at the end if you still have the legs... Up to 84kms /2600m vert, with some serious gRaVeL climbs. Note, this ride is for those that love to and CAN climb... There's some serious vert in here... 15-20% spikes on gravel means strength in the saddle... And we aren't doing this with a view to walking up them! But highly likely at some stage...!?! There'll be a mid ride stop at Sky High Cafe. https://www.strava.com/routes/8633631 ...... Love a bit of gravel on your road bike (>25 tyres) or CX bike? This 4hr approx ride has everything you could ask for! Some of best and most challenging gravel climbs in the nongs. Gravel up, bitumen down. In most cases... I'm hoping to organise a few weekend rides while the Akers galavant around Italy for the next few weeks. I'm taking some creative license this weekend and am suggesting a Sunday ride that will loop in with another group leaving from the West Depart: Footscray Town Hall 6.30am Footscray > CBD > Sassafras > Emerald > Berwick > Dandenong > Mordialloc > Footscray Approx. 150km and 2100vm Approximate strava route is: https://www.strava.com/routes/8637148 Soooo tell mum to expect her Mother's day call in the afternoon, not the morning! 01.01.2022 Hey all. Been a while..... Who's up for a Nongs ride this Sunday? The Basin, 730am roll (arrive 715am latest). Approx 3.5 - 4hrs. Easy/medium pace, but faster climbers can drop back down climbs to support others if they wish.... Bring 2 bidons of drink and some snacks. We'll refuel once mid ride w/coffee stop. Front/rear lights and spares a must. I'll decide the route b4hand. But yes, there'll be a couple of easy but scenic compact gravel roads.
