19.01.2022 As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold in Victoria and regional Victoria re-enters stage 3 we want to ensure staff, customers, their families and the wider community stay safe. You will notice a few changes around our store both at Lake Bolac and Ararat. The following changes have been implemented: * A mask or face covering be worn in our store as per Victorian Government... * Customers are no longer able to browse in the store, we ask that you wait in the bollarded areas * Use hand sanitizer when entering and practice social distancing * Fill in the sign in sheet in the instance that contract tracing is needed to be completed, this is a requirement by the DHHS for anyone entering our site * Further to this, if possible phone ahead and we are happy to package up your requirements or deliver on farm. We ask that everyone remains patient with staff, we have reduced numbers in our offices with home schooling returning but the support we offer will not change. 15.01.2022 !!! CROP ALERT !!! Stripe rust has been reported in wheat crops across Victoria. These reports are earlier than recent years. With this early occurrence of stripe rust proactive management will be required in varieties without adequate resistance. Wheat crops across the state should be monitored closely for rust with a view to timely fungicide application if warranted. Given the occurrence of a new strain of stripe rust in Victoria it is important to consult a 2020 cereal dis...ease guide to check variety ratings to this strain. Note that some wheat and durum cultivars are now more susceptible to this new strain of stripe rust. Stripe rust identification, management, and epidemiology can be found in Identification & Management of Field Crop Diseases in Victoria. Growers and advisors are encouraged to adopt a three-step approach to assess stripe rust infection 1. Review variety ratings using a current cereal disease guide. To ensure the ratings are current do not use one from previous years. The current Victorian guide can be found here. 2. Monitor crops closely 3. Use the StripeRustWM app to support decision making. 04.01.2022 A stricter day today for social distancing. Sorry farmers but its a massive fine and also we would love to keep everyone safe. We dont want to go into lockdown stage 4 and not have anything available and our crops or livestock suffer. Hear from you Monday.
