25.01.2022 THAT'S A WRAP! What a year! We are so grateful that we were able to have a summer/twilight competition this year. ... We would like to firstly thank all of our players, parents, coaches, umpires, clubs, executive and volunteers for making this happen. We thank you for doing your best to remain covid safe and going the extra mile to ensure we could provide a competition. Well done to all players for a great competition and playing under different circumstances. We cannot wait to see you all on the court again for our 2021 winter season. We wish you all a safe and happy Christmas

20.01.2022 UMPIRES REQUIRED FOR PROPOSED 2020 SUMMER COMPETITION As you have probably heard Westlakes is attempting to have a summer competition commencing 10 October 2020 from 8:30am. Teams will be from 7/8 years to 12 years.... These games will have umpires allocated, therefore umpires are requested to nominate to be in the payment system. Please note umpires must be registered with Netball NSW for insurance purposes. For 2020 summer comp payment will be as follows. $10 per game for 2019 and 2020 Foundation Umpires. $15 per game for all other umpires. Please forward your name and contact details to [email protected] ASAP. New umpires must be turning 12 years in 2020 and have completed the Foundation Umpire Course and Theory Exam. 19.01.2022 We were so disappointed this morning that we had to cancel today’s carnival. In hindsight as the weather has detoriated all day, a good call was made. Prior to today our Covid Safety Officer had produced the official paperwork every day,to Nnsw, our Rep Liasion Officer & Secretary had also followed up procedures every day & forwarded to visiting associations. Besides our exec & canteen Kym who came at 6am this morning, & yesterday for six hours ,Thankyou Karen D, Jo, Tara, Ge...orgia the other people who helped & supported for today to happen. I am saying the next as my personal thoughts... To whoever the ‘person ‘ dobbed us in to Hunter NewEngland Health Get on your bike You have no idea of how much thought, time, $ we had put into making today’s carnival successful for all our teams. 18.01.2022 To celebrate the life of our dear friend Fiona Knight, we will be decorating the courts blue to raise awareness for Motor Neurone Disease. Everyone is welcome to wear something blue and bring a gold coin donation. We will have girls walking around with buckets to collect your donations.

15.01.2022 Westlakes would like to congratulate Justin Dobosz Who obtained his national C Umpiring badge at Wyong netball Association and Janelle Roberts who obtained her national B Umpiring badge at regional league Port Stephens last Friday night. Well deserved to both our members who have continued their umpire pathways through COVID 19.

13.01.2022 We would like to thank everyone for their support yesterday in helping us remember and celebrate the life of a dear friend Fiona Knight who we sadly lost to MND. Together we raised $1100 which will go towards MND research Australia. We loved seeing everyone show their support by wearing blue and we thank those who walked around seeking donations on the day.

07.01.2022 Players, Umpires and Spectators: A friendly reminder in relation to wearing of jewellery during a netball game. Under Netball Rules 5. Match Personnel (iv) Players may not wear anything that could endanger themselves or other players, Specifically:... (a) No adornment of jewellery may be worn other than a wedding which must be covered with tape. (b) A medical alert bracelet may be worn provided it is covered with tape. (c) Fingernails must be short and smooth. (d) Hair must be suitably tied back. The umpire will ask any player breaking the above rules not to take the court until they are satisfied the actions have been corrected. You may also be informed by an Umpire committee person or executive of Westlake's Netball Association of the same requirement. Karen Smith Westlakes Umpire Convener

Games are suitable for Junior Umpires, however more experienced umpires are welcomed to umpire and mentor our juniors where required. If you are new to umpiring and wish to learn the umpire pathway, you are welcome to nominate. Games will have a nominal payment to the umpire. Please note umpires must be registered with Netball NSW for insurance purposes. Ages 12 - seniors. 6pm for ages 12-16 yrs Fast 5 - 15+ yrs starting at 7.45pm. EACH TEAM MAY HAVE UP TO 10 PLAYERS, 1 COACH 1 MANAGER, ONE SPECTATOR PER PLAYER Team entries due to westlakes by 19th September. Please see your club for a team registration form. New registrations are required through my netball. Can't wait to see you all back out on the court
01.01.2022 SUMMER COMPETITION * 1 round at 9am * Arrive no earlier than 10mins prior and leave soon after. * 28 spectators per team * All bibs must be sprayed and sanitised before and after each use especially when players are being changed during a game... * Teams are kindly asked to please wipe down post pads before and after their game. *Clubs on duty to arrive at 8.30am for set up. There will be a map to come shortly with entry and exit points. We look forward to seeing you out on the court soon!

01.01.2022 2020 FOUNDATION UMPIRING SQUAD. The following information is for all NEW participants interested in learning to umpire. Please note 2019 Foundation Umpires are now considered to be Junior Umpires. Nominations are now open for 2020 Foundation Umpiring Squad.... We encourage parents, spectator and players of all ages to become involved with umpiring. Umpires help keep the game safe, fair and fun for everyone. TO QUALIFY FOR THE FOUNDATION UMPIRING SQUAD. You must be turning 12 years of age in 2020 and we encourage parents, spectators and players of all ages to nominate and complete the course through My Netball You will need your Login and Password If you are not a player or a member of Netball NSW you must register and you will need to register with a club as a non-player to be covered for insurance purposes. Complete the online Foundation Umpiring Course. The cost is $40, you will be provided with a certificate on completion. Foundation Umpire Course Complete the Rule of Netball Theory Exam with a pass of at least 70% Exam cost is $10.48, you will be provided with a certificate on completion.
