21.01.2022 With the season seemingly set to start soon we implore you to support the club with our Brownlow medal sweep. It looks to be a challenging year financially with the club unable to hold functions or sell food and drinks. The Sweep is a good way to raise money as well as give someone the opportunity to win a $1000. It is just $20 to enter and you can buy as many tickets as you want. Simply transfer funds to BSB 633000 A/C 150149052 with your name as a reference.

17.01.2022 Just a reminder of our inaugural MONSTER BROWNLOW MEDAL SWEEP with a chance to win a cool $1000 cash. Don’t miss out on this amazing competition. Here is how it will work: Entry is $20 per ticket Prior to the brownlow medal, a live draw will take place. At this time, the name of an entrant will be drawn, then an AFL players name will be drawn. If the AFL player wins the brownlow, then the entrant will win $1000.... Not all AFL players will be in the draw, only enough to cover the amount of entrants. Only the top players on the betting market will be entered with top ups added if the number of entrants require it. If for some reason, the AFL player that wins is not included in the sweep, then the winner of the competition will be the Brownlow medal runner up. If there is a tie, then the winning prize will be shared .Date & time of the drawn will be announced closer to the event. If you would like to participate, then please transfer $20 per entry into our bank account with your name as a reference. 17.01.2022 As you know the cricket season has been delayed due to Covid. Whilst we do not yet know start dates, the governments road map announced on Sunday does give us some clarity on when we may be able to commence. We are waiting on advice from Cricket Victoria to confirm but it appears the earliest community sport will return is the week commencing 23/11/2020. This is on the provision that there has been zero new Covid cases for the proceeding two weeks. To assist in planning, the ...club will be announcing online registration shortly. Membership fees have not risen and will be reduced on a pro-rata basis depending on how much of a season we get in. Any memberships fees paid will be refunded if play does not go ahead because of Covid. We would dearly like to acknowledge all of our players, members, supporters and of course sponsors, we know that this pandemic has hurt many people in different ways. Hopefully cricket can give us something to look forward to. The cricket club is not immune from the affects of Covid and will face a challenging time both financially and motivating people to participate in a shortened season. It would therefore be appreciated that those whose circumstances allow, support our Brownlow medal sweep competition where there is a chance to win $1000. The cost is $20 which can be transferred into BSB 633000 A/C 150149052 with your name as a reference. We look forward to be able to sharing more information to you once it becomes known. Regards Paul Lloyd WCC President

14.01.2022 The Westmeadows Cricket Club is pleased to announce the we will be holding last seasons (19/20) senior presentation night on Saturday 28/11/2020 at the club rooms. We know there may be some differing views as to when and where the presentation night should take place but we feel the sooner we can formally recognise the efforts of last season the better; remember some clubs didn’t have a presentation night and others chose to do it on zoom or similar. Next week will be a perfect time to celebrate. Our 1st XI mens side will be playing their first home game against Keilor and unfurling their premiership flag before the game. We are keeping the presentation night informal. There will be no entry fee, drinks will be at bar prices and food will be available. We will kick off around 7.30 p.m., so we hope to see you there !! Paul

03.01.2022 It is with great regret that the club today has decided to not enter an under 18's side within the VTCA. This decision was not taken lightly but made due to reduced interest amongst the playing group and our inability to attract a coach for the team. In the 2010/2011 season, Westmeadows established an under 17 turf side and entered it into a senior VTCA competition. The team went onto win the flag. The concept was such a success the VTCA created an under 17 competition wh...ich eventually evolved into the under 18s. We then went onto play in four grand finals in a row. At least three of these young players are now regular 1st XI players for the club with another flourishing at District cricket. Whilst disappointing, we encourage all players in that age group to pursue pathways through our senior teams where there are grades to suit all levels of ability and experience. We hope to reinvigorate interest in this grade next year!
01.01.2022 The Westmeadows Cricket Club sincerely hopes everyone is coping with the Stage 4 conditions we are all facing and any challenges in personal circumstances that this may bring. As a distraction, we are announcing our inaugural MONSTER BROWNLOW MEDAL SWEEP with a chance to win a cool $1000 cash.... Here is how it will work: Entry is $20 per ticket Prior to the brownlow medal, a live draw will take place. At this time, the name of an entrant will be drawn, then an AFL players name will be drawn.
