19.01.2022 New updates have been made to Queenslands Aged Care Direction that restricts access to residential aged-care facilities in certain suburbs. It does NOT mean th...at there is restricted access to the suburbs themselves. 18.01.2022 Hello Westminster Families, We hope you and your families are managing through this exceptional situation both from a health and financial perspective. We still find ourselves in a holding pattern, whilst our Association (QCSA) plans for a "possible" commencement of games and training sometime in the next few months, the health and well-being of our soccer families continues to be our priority. ... The State Government is meeting on 19th May 2020 and will release after that meeting some information on grassroots sport and how we may be able to move forward. Any commencement of competitions will be subject to the latest medical advice available from State and Federal Governments. We appreciate everyones patience through this time. Understandably we are all very keen to recommence the season as soon as possible and QCSA will provide updates as new information becomes available, which of course, we will pass onto you immediately. Keep well and stay safe. Sue Peacock Westminster Warriors President

18.01.2022 Important Wet Weather Information Please keep an eye on the qcsa.org.au page under "weather status" on the right of the webpage. The Westminster Facebook page will be updated as quickly as possible, but keep an eye on the QCSA webpage first and foremost. Just because it is raining at your home or your field, doesnt mean it is raining enough to withdraw fields. Soccer is played in the rain as long as it isnt dangerous to players or the fields will get damaged. ... Please do NOT ring or message us asking if your game is on..we will not answer. If your game has been cancelled or the field withdrawn, your team officials will contact you through their communication outlet. Your game may be moved to another field close by so keep an eye out for that information which will be in the "weather status" area. Best advice: "Go to your game unless you hear from your team official". Good luck

18.01.2022 Westminster Warriors photo day is Sunday 20th June, between 1pm and 4pm. Please check with your team manager for the time that has been allocated to your team, as the times are staggered. The Club's expectation is for all teams to be there, from Under 6 to Overage and senior teams. Our Tiny Tots will be done on a Monday afternoon at their training, but plenty of notice will be given on the date for them, so please be patient with that one. All team photos are included in t...he fees, so no extra cost on the day, unless you require additional copies ($15ea) and you will need to advise your team manager of this at the time of the photo shoot and pay prior. Please ensure your players wear their playing shorts, socks and boots and your team manager will give them their playing shirt to wear for the photo just before the allocated time for your team. Players, bring your big smiles and see you on the day.

17.01.2022 Well, it took me all of yesterday and last night to get my head around the honour which was bestowed on me yesterday morning. I am overwhelmed with gratitude t...o have a field at the Westminster Warriors Soccer Club (Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve) named after myself. Thank you all so much for being there to share in this occasion. I am so honoured to have my passion and work recognised in this way by Mayor Teresa Harding, Cr Sheila Ireland, Cr Jacob Madsen, Lance McCallum MP, Milton Dick MP and Pastor Phil from Shiloh Church. Endless hours are volunteered and it means so much to me that the work that I am so enthusiastic about also resonates with others. The running of Westminster Warriors is not something that I do alone, and there are many others who have mentored me or provided inspiration and guidance along my journey: the whole Westminster Warriors committee, especially my soccer partner Paul Janson (Vice President), who is always there for support no matter what, Graeme Gielis (Secretary) and Rob Price who I believe assisted with this honour and Evan Rose for his tireless effort in assisting to set up the event, Life Members Jon Jon Tweedale and Traci Tweedal who both taught me what I know when I first started, as well as all the other selfless people that knew about this for the last 6 months or so.what a well-kept secret I especially need to thank my husband Paul for his unwavering support over the countless years, and my family and friends (some of whom travelled from afar) that attended yesterday. All your love and support throughout my soccer journey is appreciated more than I can express in words. A special thanks to Sarah Knopke and Mere A Wak for assisting with the setup yesterday, it was amazing. I hope that this recognition of my work can serve as an inspiration to others in the field. Remember - if my work can make a difference to our community and help kids of all abilities get on the soccer field with their mates, so can yours. I am humbled and appreciative thank everyone for all their good wishes that I have seen on multiple posts.

14.01.2022 Covid-19 Pop-Up testing clinic established at Westminster Warriors Soccer Club off Moreton Avenue, Redbank Plains. Media Release Deputy Premier and Minister for... Health and Minister for Ambulance Services, The Honourable Steven Miles Officers rapidly deployed to first Ambulance pop-up COVID-19 testing clinic The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) has stood up its first COVID-19 testing clinic to assist in identifying potential coronavirus cases. Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services Steven Miles said QAS officers were recently called on to assist and support Queensland Health and Local Health and Hospital Services with COVID-19 testing. Just over one week ago the QAS committed 50 staff to assist with pop-up testing clinics that could be rapidly deployed to areas where testing needs to be undertaken, Mr Miles said. Officers undertook training last week and are now ready for rapid deployment to areas of demand. Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young has identified the suburbs of Redbank, Redbank Plains and Goodna as areas where cases of COVID-19 may be diagnosed. As such, the QAS has stood up a clinic at Redbank Plains to provide support to our other health resources in those suburbs of concern. Swift testing is imperative to contain potential outbreaks and reduce further spread of known clusters. The clinic, staffed by QAS officers, will be in operation from the afternoon of Monday 14 September and is located at the Westminster Warriors Soccer Club off Moreton Avenue, Redbank Plains. Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum encouraged his community to get tested. Were encouraging everyone who has any symptoms, particularly people in Redbank, Redbank Plains and Goodna suburbs, to please get tested as soon as possible and remain isolated until a result is returned, Mr McCallum said. I want to say thank you to our community, who have already done a great job of following the health advice. QAS Commissioner Russell Bowles said QAS officers were willing and able to assist in Queenslands pandemic response. When we put the call out last week asking for officers to be involved in the pop-up testing clinics, we were inundated with interest, Commissioner Bowles said. Were fortunate to have the ability to rapidly train and deploy officers for all manner of events and this has been no different. We now have officers ready to be deployed across the state should we be required to assist in other locations. Information on locations of testing and fever clinics can be found here: https://www.qld.gov.au//stay-inf/testing-and-fever-clinics

14.01.2022 Hi Members, The Health Department are setting up a COVID test site in our carpark as of today. What will this impact for games this week? At this stage we dont know as Council are still in the throws of finding out themselves. Once I have been given more information, I will let you all know. ... I believe the match tomorrow aftrernoon can still happen, members may just have to park up around the AFL car park etc.. or we may be able to open up the overflow car park, but until we know where they are setting up and if it is a walk through or drive through site, our knowledge is limited. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please do not post inappropriate comments on here, as they will be deleted.

11.01.2022 Training Resumes Tuesday 16th June With training thankfully being able to resume from Tuesday, strict restrictions will be enforced to ensure compliance with Covid Safe regulations. This has involved the creation of separate zones on the training field, limits on numbers in each zone, and limits to the types of training allowed.... All managers and coaches will be aware of the requirements, and will ensure that everyone is treated to a great training session while also remaining safe and compliant. During this return to a very different form of training, we ask that you please follow all instructions and observe group limits, zones and any directions that you are given. Any relevant information will be advised to you by your team officials. Despite these changes to our normal training sessions, I think we can all agree that it is just great to be back training, whatever the changes! Below is the map of our training setup on the fields, entry & exit points, together with the new team training locations & training times. Please do not turn up to training any earlier than 10 minutes before your allotted time to train (e.g. training commences at 5pm, do not turn up before 4:50pm). This will help in allowing the people before you to leave and for the venue to be sanitised and cleaned before the next training session commences. Please turned up dressed and ready to train. There will be no change rooms open. We look forward to seeing you at training. Stay safe, and train hard!

09.01.2022 Hi Club Members, We have been in contact with the Public Health Unit today, so please read the following information carefully. Our records indicate that the following teams have players in them who attend Staines Memorial College. ... If your team is not listed below but you are aware of a player/players in your team that attend Staines, please also abide by the instructions below and let me know urgently. U10 Swordfish (newly added) Senior Men Div 5 U15/16 Girls Diamonds U14/2 (Giants) U11/3 U8 Vikings U8 Gladiators U7 Dingoes U7 Coyotes U6 Eagles Any team who has a child in that attends Staines will not be training this week nor playing the game that is scheduled for 5th September...that means the whole team does not train or play this week. None of the players in the above-mentioned teams can be borrowed or play for other teams this weekend either. The Public Health Unit will update the Club later in the week as to whether the same will apply next week for these teams or not. For the teams listed above (and any other teams with players in who attend Staines), these games will be cancelled for this coming weekend and Westminster will advise the QCSA and opposition this information. As mentioned previously: 1. If you or your family show any COVID symptoms, please get tested immediately and advise the Club or your team manager urgently. 2. If you get contacted by the Public Health Unit, please follow their directions. We will keep you posted of any new developments. 09.01.2022 Fields are still open for training.

07.01.2022 Hi Tiny Tot Families Westminster thanks you immensely for your patience, whilst we go through this different and somewhat, challenging time at the club. Tiny Tots will be commencing tomorrow (Friday 19 June) normal time, 5pm to 6pm. It will go through to Friday 11 September 2020. Of course, there will be some COVID procedures that we have to ensure are in place for this to happen.... Everyone will need to be signed in and out, both child and parent. We ask that perhaps, if you can, limit the adult that accompanys the child to 1 and also if possible, no other siblings. We understand if you need to bring siblings, but there will be strict rules as to where they can and cant go. We can only be in groups of 20 in total, so we will have to split the Tiny Tots up to groups of 9 players and 9 parents, with a coach in each group. Potentially we may have up to 3 groups in the 1 session. We will have sanitiser that everyone will have to use on entering the field and please see the map below for meeting point, etc. Please be patient with us as we work through this Friday and the procedures that we have to do. I am sure as the weeks go on, we will streamline them and everyone will get used to where they have to go. I am sure the kids will enjoy themselves, as usual, and we will be trying our hardest to ensure that it runs as smoothly as possible and to ensure minimal disruption to their Tiny Tot routine. If you are not partaking in the Tiny Tot program this year, please let us know so we can remove you from the group. If you have paid any fees, you can request a refund (please provide bank information for this to happen) or you can roll the fees that have been paid for the 2021 season. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow or for those that dont return, perhaps see you in 2021 and thank you again for supporting Westminster during COVID. Kind regards, Sue Peacock President Westminster Warriors Soccer Club

If you or your family show any COVID symptoms, please get tested immediately and advise the Club or your team manager urgently. 3. We will keep you posted in the next 24hours, as to how this may effect your training this week and your game on the upcoming weekend.

06.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We are doing a very brief award ceremony tomorrow morning from around 9.30am, to those members who have reached their 10yrs, 15yrs and 20yrs. We hope to do it live on Facebook so it can be shared, as we are still restricted with numbers to these events. Tune in then to watch or if we don't manage the live feed, a video will be posted after the fact.

06.01.2022 The Premier and Health Minister this afternoon made an announcement with regards to Level 3 Restrictions. What we know is this:- - Some aspects of Level 3 have ...been moved forward to midday Friday 3rd July. This includes provisions for community sport. - We are aware that this includes full contact sport. - We are aware of a lifting of max numbers of people (including spectators) at sporting fields, however, household groups are still expected and encouraged to keep 1.5m from others. - We are lead to believe that we will still need to comply with an industry-wide CovidSafe Plan. We are awaiting further advice on this. - Other aspects, such as the keeping of attendance register, are still unknown as of now. We will continue to seek advice on this. We will ensure the release of any new information as quickly as possible. Im the mean time, we thank our clubs and members for their continued patience.
