25.01.2022 Our final thanks of the season goes to these absolute champions. Our committee. They may be small in numbers but the workload they have carried this season has been huge. Throughout the challenges 2020 has thrown at them, their achievements have been huge. They have run a full Covid Safe season, battled weather and damage to the grounds, they have had 9 teams compete with 2 of those being competition level and 3 of them being girls teams. They have begun a massive governance... overall including updating our constitution, implementing new finance programs and writing policies has become the new norm for many of them! Most importantly of all they have become firm friends who have worked together with one main dream "To get 2020 Soccer happening for 100 children" and boy did they achieve it. 24.01.2022 PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES Unfortunately due to Covid and the current Public Health Order, this year we are unable to hold a presentation for the end of season. We will however, be presenting the children with their trophy at the end of their game at our last home games weekend. This will be held at the grounds on Sat 26th & Sun 27th September. Our under 6 girls and 10 mixed teams have away games that weekend, so we will be presenting your trophies at your first training ses...sion that week. (Under 6 girls - Wednesday 30th September and Under 10 mixed - Monday 28th September) Please be mindful that all current Covid Safety measures are still in place, such as maintaining social distancing and only 1 parent to attend per child. We understand this isn't normal practice but we are working hard behind the scenes to present the children with their trophy regardless of the challenges covid has thrown at us. We hope 2021 will bring some normality back to soccer and hope you will all join us too!

12.01.2022 Covid changed the way we did football this year. Whilst every team has been affected our U10/11 Girls found themselves playing a very small group of teams this year with only 5 teams competing in the Girls U10/11 age group. Over the season the team has built a beautiful relationship with the U10 Girls team at Lochinvar Rovers Football Club. They have played a couple of friendly games under lights, in the rain and smiled at every minute of it all to help build skill and get p...ractice in. We have loved watching the girls enjoy their games, supporting each other but most importantly loved seeing them smile and laugh with each other. Thank you to Lochinvar for playing our girls. Thank you to the two junior refs who gave up their evenings to ref our games and thank you to our parents and families for supporting the girls even in the pouring rain. See more

10.01.2022 Playing football at Weston Junior Football Club isn't just about learning the game or scoring goals. Its about teamwork and friendships and fun. We had an amazing day yesterday playing at home and one of our highlights was watching the kids from both teams congratulate each other after a good game. Lifetime friendships form on and off the field and we celebrate our wins and our losses with a smile on our faces when we know we have played our best and with true sportsmanship. 07.01.2022 We are excited to invite our Members to a Special General Meeting held at Varty Park, Swanson Street, Weston on Sat 5th September at 2.30pm. The purpose of the meeting is to seek the votes of our members on our new Constitution. Our current constitution was written in 1987 and has served us well for over 30 years. We have taken the time to review it over the last few years and the committee would like to propose to our members that we adopt the model constitution. This chan...ge has been endorsed by Hunter Valley Football and brings our club in line with other local clubs. All member have received an email invitation on the 17th August with a link to view the proposed constitution and should you have not received then then please contact the club via email on [email protected] All financial member are able to vote on the day to either adopt or reject the newly proposed constitution and we look forward to seeing as many members as possible there to mark this milestone for our club.

02.01.2022 This Week marks National Child Protection Week where this year the theme is Putting Children First At Weston Junior Football Club children are always front of mind. Everything we do is focused around putting their safety & their wellbeing first. It has been front of mind during this season in many extra ways that at times have seemed frustrating. When we make a decision to cancel games or training due to weather - its for the safety of the children as the grounds arent sa...fe. When we implement Covid measures that seem to make things hard, its about protecting the children and in turn their families. When we insist on Working with Children Checks, its to ensure the right people are part of our club. When we call out unsupportive sideline behaviour, its for the mental wellbeing of the children. We can all help with putting children first by prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children be it at home, work or play. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. For children to thrive we need to come together as a community and put childrens needs first during National Child Protection Week and every week Every member of our club can do their part in protecting our little people and we know we have the best football community around. Remember to play safe & play for fun this weekend and don't forget - - Remain 1.5m apart at all times. Respect the reminders and signage and rules at each club you attend.... - Stay home if you have any symptoms of a cough, cold, fatigue, temps, sore throat or shortness of breath - Remember your child's drink bottle and snack - Jerseys will need to be taken home to wash by families and bought back for each game.
