13.01.2022 Today, we're celebrating Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, with the Indian-Australian community. "Diwali means 'family' to me," says Westpac Group Brand and Advertising Manager Mickesh Mistry. "It's about bringing people together and celebrating our culture. As most of my extended family is in the UK, we spend the afternoon on video calls talking to family and celebrating together. We all dress up in our traditional Indian clothing, reminisce about the year gone by, and look forward to the year ahead!"

07.01.2022 A staggering 73 per cent of the bank’s male employees enlisted in the armed forces during WWII. As the fortunate ones started to return, Thomas Heffer, Chief Executive of the bank in 1945, wrote a note to staff. Our service men are now coming back to us in small numbers and the flow will soon increase. Many of these men will feel for some time the effects of their war service, and all will take time to adjust themselves to civilian conditions and their old occupation. It is ...our privilege as well as our duty to take them in hand when they re-join the bank, and to help them overtake the lag in their training. I appeal to all those with whom they work to make this a personal matter and to exercise patience and tolerance especially with the men who have suffered in mind or body while fighting to protect us. Today, on Remembrance Day, we acknowledge the sacrifice and hardship of the men and women who have served Australia in war, along with their family and friends. Lest we forget.
