12.01.2022 Keeping South Australians safe this summer. Operations for the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service have commenced; providing essential patrol, rescue and preventative measures to keep our communities safe at the beach. Last year, the Service completed 200 flight hours on patrol, identified 39 sharks and undertook 881 preventative actions. Westpac, which has supported the SA Service since 2005, shares a message of support from State General Manager Nick Reade on behalf of the entire Westpac SA team: For the past 15 years we’ve seen the important role this service continues to play in keeping our community safe. As we head into summer, we thank our crew and surf lifesavers for their dedication to saving lives and helping others.
