25.01.2022 Message received from the Westport Club this afternoon "It has been wonderful to see many of you rolling up over the past couple of weeks. We are excited to confirm that the resumption of Social Bowls and Competitions will start on Wednesday 1 July with Men’s Social Bowls from 1pm.... As with our previous communication about roll ups, it is important to us that our members feel safe whilst they return to bowls. This means that there will be some changes. Our aim is for you to have an enjoyable experience on the greens. We seek your support to adhering to the social distancing, personal hygiene and conditions of play for all competitions and roll ups. Consequences of any breaches could result in suspension of membership and re-closure of the greens."

09.01.2022 Bowls NSW have posted on their web page.... "All bowls events be suspended for an indefinite period, effective immediately (from this date). This relates to all association events, competition events, club events and tournaments and includes social bowls events.... While this is obviously an unfortunate disruption to the season, Women’s Bowls NSW and Bowls NSW believes that a blanket guidance such as this leaves all associations, clubs, players, coaches, officials and administrators in the state in the same position while we watch developments around COVID-19. It is important to note that the season is not being cancelled. At this time" Cheers Peli

01.01.2022 All quite on the home front here, hope you are all well. Not much to report from Westport Bowls...Most of us have not played a game of bowls here for 3 months Currently we are just getting on to the Westport greens from 16th June for some practice [roll ups]... Sadly no social bowls here and I understand the same applies at most clubs in nsw. A run down of the position here is broadly summarised as, Roll ups will be between 10:00am & 1:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays; and 10:00am & 11:15am on Saturdays. No access to the greens is permitted outside these hours at this stage. BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL: no booking no roll up! Only 2 bowlers per rink, with one spare rink between play and a maximum of 8 bowlers per green is allowed at any one time. A roll up fee of $5.00 per person per session will be payable prior to commencement of play. No smoking and no alcohol is permitted on or around the bowling greens, bowls office or bowls bar area. I would like to be able to sign off on a more favourable note but it is what it is...Hope to be visiting others with like minded blokes playing bowls sooooon. Cheers Peli
