23.01.2022 Youve probably not heard of them (up to recently, neither have I). OXFAM is working towards a future free from poverty but their success is dependent on the participation of the wonderful people who take on the challenges. https://www.oxfam.org.au/ I learned about them through a recent fund raising event, the OxFam Trailwalker that a friend of mine was involved in. ... The event held in Perth, Western Australia is one of many that involves a 100km Trailwalker, run/walk through mountainous and bushy terrain. My involvement was easy I was just a support crew member. On the other hand, the Sleepwalkers, team 16 of over 300 teams were made up of an amazing group of 4 women who spent over 6 months training and preparing for this event. I was foolish enough to join one of them on a 30km training walk but at least I can relate to their incredible feat. Nonetheless, they overcame the tremendous odds and although teams were allowed 48 hours to complete the course, The Sleepwalkers finished in 25h45minutes. Yes, they walked through the cold and drizzly night without sleep and got to the Finish for breakfast the next morning. Congratulations Team Sleepwalkers and well done! This new association is about a group of people doing exceptional things for the local community of TR/Yanchep. We are still in our start up phase and we are looking for well meaning individuals to help us help this community get some well needed support to enrich their lives.... see our album of our first official act as WCPT/TRYACT. Thank you so much for those kind words. "...Fortunately I was aware of WCPT and booked Sanjays service for the surgery and further clinic appointments and we were extremely pleased with the outcome. The surgery on my mothers right eye was very successful and there is no doubt that being picked up on time and arriving at the clinic and hospital ahead of time contributed greatly to my mothers health on the day of the operation and her quick recovery thereafter and without WCPT I am not sure that it would have all been possible....) I was fortunate enough to be invited as a guest speaker at the Small Business development Centres Business Migrant Network meeting (wow! what a mouthful) A really great evening, I got to be a VIP for a night and all. 03.01.2022 Hello everyone. Just thought I should say something about the Rail shutdown issue. I am sure that this is going to cause more than a little grief to the regular users of the trains but most especially those people who are totally dependent on it. Nevertheless, to the good people in my community, worry not as I am just a phone call away. If you need to make your medical appointments on time or just need help getting around, especially now, just give me a call and well make a plan.
