15.01.2022 An update on the situation with COVID-19 and club cricket. There were two key developments yesterday: The NDJCA has cancelled the finals this weekend as well as any representative trials and presentations in the foreseeable future. West Ryde Rovers has postponed the AGM and Presentation Night to a later date. These decisions have not been taken lightly. The NDJCA cancelled the Grand Finals on the strong advice of Cricket Australia and the club has postponed Presentation Night... in accordance with advice to limit non-essential social gatherings. The health and safety of club members and the broader community are paramount. Cricket NSW CEO Lee Germon, said the decision is in line with expert advice from Cricket Australias Chief Medical Officer Dr John Orchard. Mr Germon stated that The welfare of all our players, officials, volunteers and staff is paramount. It is important that we do everything we can to look after our broader cricket community and contribute to the global effort to slow, and eventually stop, the spread of coronavirus. As such, I have no doubt that all cricket should be cancelled and that all clubs and associations need to seriously consider the cancellation or postponement of end of season functions." For any further information, please read Cricket NSWs FAQs here - https://www.community.cricket.com.au//policies/covid-19-faq Thank you all for a wonderful season and we look forward to playing again next year.
15.01.2022 A reminder that if you won a trophy last season you will have received an email to let you know that your trophy can be picked up today (Sunday 12 July) at the Meadowbank Park sheds until 12.30pm
14.01.2022 Winter sports are still wrapping up but our season is just around the corner, and even more pressing is the need for the club to make decisions on which age groups we will be fielding teams in. So, its super important for intending players to register ASAP so we are not guessing player numbers in each age group. As of today in some age groups we dont have enough players registered yet to confidently decide on how many teams we will enter in competitions. Therefore please ...register all intending players by the end of August if possible - this will make it much easier for the club to understand the age groups in which we will have teams. We dont want to force players to play up in an older age group unless it is absolutely necessary, but in the age groups where we are currently short of registered players this is a very real possibility. We also have plenty of vacancies for players in our all-girls teams, and any more father/son combinations for our new 6th grade family team are also more than welcome to register - the idea with that team is that it will be a combination of full time and part time players, so the old blokes and juniors with busy schedules dont need to play every week. Registration link below ....
14.01.2022 Cricket NSW will run a workshop for all coaches specialising in fast bowling at LH Ward Sports Park on the 25th in the morning 9:30-11:00am. Open to all coaches... in the ND area and prospective coaches yet to do their Community Coaching course. This is the first in a series of workshops to up-skill those involved in coaching. Please see below the link to register Northern Districts Fast Bowling Workshop - Registration Form https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx
13.01.2022 Junior games have been cancelled for tomorrow the 8th Feb. With no let up in rain or favourable weather to dry fields before the start of play tomorrow all games are off.
13.01.2022 Good luck on Sunday to the large contingent of Rovers players who are representing NDCA in the opening matches of the NSW Youth Championships in various age groups

11.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has registered so far for the coming season - numbers are down on last year but we are thinking this is just because many of you are still heavily involved in winter sport. If you are intending to play cricket this season please register as soon as possible so we can finalise team numbers and age groups. Competitions will start from mid October, with Covid restrictions having minimal impact on cricket other than physical distancing for spectators. Looking forward to another great season of junior and senior cricket! Registrations can be submitted via the link at our website - http://westryderoverscc.nsw.cricket.com.au/
11.01.2022 Congratulations to the West Ryde Rovers players who have been selected in the NDCA U12 representative teams to play in the Metropolitan Youth Championships (the new name for the NSWDCA representative competition) this season - the MYC starts at the end of September and runs on Sundays until December. Well done, Rubein G, Sam OB, Marcus S-G, Angus M, Henry D and Dhillon M. The NDCA U14 and U15 MYC teams are yet to be named, however a number of West Ryde players are still in the mix for selection in those teams. Best of luck to all!

This is Rohans fifth hundred for the club in 9 seasons, and Felixs second. Aris was his maiden century for Rovers.

09.01.2022 Three Rovers players featuring in the day one highlights from the Kookaburra Cup in Canberra yesterday - congrats to Felix, Jack and Jay
09.01.2022 Senior cricket is also cancelled tomorrow due to the rain, so enjoy your weekend off and stay dry!
08.01.2022 At the half time break in the cricket season we are very pleased with the number of Rovers teams participating in the NDJCA junior (19 teams) and NCU senior competitions (2 teams). Were also happy to welcome the many new players and families who have joined Rovers for the first time - and in the Under 8/9 Master Blasters program there are 6 Rovers teams, which is tremendous for the future of the club! Our 2nd Grade senior team who play on turf in the NCU competition is curr...ently sitting in third place, while our brand new 6th Grade NCU senior team comprised of mostly fathers and their teenage sons is second on the ladder, having lost just one game so far in the season. Many thanks to long time club members Ray Watson and Steven Lee for coming up with the idea of entering a parent/child team and for following through to bring their idea to fruition. Already there is enough interest from other families in the Rovers community for us to consider adding another parent/child team next season! See more
07.01.2022 Congratulations to the Rovers players who have been selected in the NDCA teams for the Metropolitan Youth Championships which are played on turf on Sundays from the end of September. U14: Jay D and Raunil B; U15: Felix B, Ari G, Isaac C, Jack M-L, Patrick W and Mason B
06.01.2022 We hope you and your families are well as we continue to navigate uncertain times. Thanks to the efforts of West Ryde Trophies and a number of volunteers, we now have our end of season report as well as trophies and participation certificates. The end of season report has been sent in an email to all members. Players in Master Blasters and Stage 1 (through U11) will receive either participation certificates or a trophy if they were selected for a team award. Players in Under... 12 and up who received a team or other special club award will also receive a trophy. Given the disruptions that COVID-19 has caused, instead of holding a delayed Presentation Night, we will mail out certificates. To ensure delivery, please check that your mailing address is up to date in MyCricket. We will send a separate email to trophy winners with details for collection. Secondly, a reminder that the NDJCA will commence winter development training soon. If you are interested, email [email protected] as soon as possible. Please give the players name, Mycricket ID, date of Birth and Club. Thirdly, Cricket NSW has delayed the start of the cricket season in consultation with other major sporting codes. At the moment we are looking at starting the season towards the end of October, and we will likely run registration starting in late July/early August. In the meantime, please stay well and let use know if you have any questions.
05.01.2022 Our application under the Cricket Australia Grassroots Cricket Fund was successful, and as a result the club has been able to purchase a mains powered bowling machine (Paceman Pro) and balls to suit. We gave the machine a test run recently using a generator while waiting for the Council to allocate Rovers a key to the power point that was installed at the nets last year. We are hoping to receive the key soon which means that club teams in any age group will be able to use the bowling machine in the Meadowbank nets on training nights. Well be in touch with coaches and managers with more info as soon as that happens!
05.01.2022 Update 7pm Northern Districts Junior Cricket. Saturday 7th March All Play Abandoned. (all Age Groups) The Safety and Well Being of all, Players, Officials, Parents, and Spectators is Paramount. With the impact of self Isolation imposed on all players from Epping Boys, and the flow effect this has to a number of clubs and teams the decision has be taken to abandoned play for all matches in all age groups for Saturday 7th March
04.01.2022 Pre-season games continue on Saturday for U12-U16 and Seniors - all grounds in Ryde and Parramatta council areas are open again today, so given there is little rain forecast overnight then all (or most) games should be able to go ahead. However, as always during the cricket season, it is up to the coaches to determine whether grounds are safe to play on the day. Please see the link below for the wet weather guidelines if you are unsure ....
04.01.2022 There has been some overnight rain, but all Games are on. Team Coaches will make decision on condition of Ground prior to play Shane Cotton... NDCA President 0427 016 305 See more

03.01.2022 All cricket training on Tuesday 12 November is cancelled due to weather conditions and advice on air quality
01.01.2022 A busy week its been, as preparations continue for the first round of competition matches in every junior age group this coming Saturday. As always at this time of the season there is a lot of detail to coordinate at both a club level (registrations, insurance, child protection compliance, clothing orders, team allocation, parent preferences, friends wanting to play with friends, etc) and at the association level (ground bookings, liaison with Councils, drawing up the fixtu...res, organising rep teams etc) so please be patient if things seem somewhat last minute this week - it is what it is. Rest assured that there are a lot of volunteers, most of whom are also parents, who work full time, putting in plenty of their spare time to get the season up and running The NDJCA (juniors) and NCU (seniors) fixtures for Saturday have been published, but please check these again on Friday night in case there are any last minute changes to venues - all Rovers games are listed here ... http://westryderoverscc.nsw.cricket.com.au//upcomingmatche
